Publisher's summary

A full-length standalone from USA Today best-selling author R. S. Grey. There are overlapping characters from The Duet, but both books can be read separately.

Five minutes until the interview begins. Fresh on the heels of her college graduation, Cameron Heart has landed an interview at a prestigious architecture firm. Four minutes until the interview. She knows she's only there because the owner, Grayson Cole, is her older sister's friend. Three minutes. For the last seven years, Grayson has been the most intimidating man Cammie has ever had the pleasure - or displeasure - of being around. Two minutes. But the job opportunity is too good to pass up. So, Cammie will have to ignore the fact that Grayson is handsome enough to have his own national holiday. One. After all, she shouldn't feel that way about her new boss. And he will be her new boss....

"I'm not intimidated by you," I said with a confident smile.

"Perhaps we should fix that, Ms. Heart. Close the door."

Never Have I Ever...

...hated the main character of a romance novel... UNTIL NOW! OMG, seriously?? I thought the purpose of romance novels was to root FOR the happy ending!?!??! Which I am a total sucker for usually and that’s the entire reason why I’m addicted to romance novels to begin with but my goodness... in this book the main chick Cammy is a crazy, ungrateful, stupid, selfish, stubborn, and wreckless, BRAT who didn’t make a single good decision throughout the entire book. I found myself gritting my teeth throughout most of it and wishing she got what she deserved instead of the happy ending I am usually so focused on, which completely ruined the story for me. These romance novels are supposed to be exciting to where you can’t wait to see what happens next but in this case, I forced myself to continue on with it several times hoping she would learn her lesson or come to her senses and it would all be worth it but she was a total disappointment straight through to the very end. By the time the last 5-10 minutes of the book came it was just too late to be redeemed. I finished the last few minutes but it didn’t change my mind about the book. I’m just happy that I didn’t have to pay for it or I’d be pretty upset. I hate giving bad reviews so I waited half the day to write this to see if I had a change of heart but every time I think about this book I get mad so I just wanted to document my warning to the rest of you and get it out of my library. Buyers Beware!

An Unhealthy Obsession

Let me point out right away how these two characters are perfect for each other. Both are immature, obsessed, manipulative characters.Ok I can understand Cami being only 22 and not having much experience in relationships, but once Grayson clued her in to his attraction to her,she was over the top and desperate to get his attentions.Grayson on the other hand is 30,should have plenty experience and was hoping maturity to deal with a young woman’s crush, professionally and sensitively to Cami’s feelings and naivety, instead he was cruel by clueing her into exactly what him and his”current”girlfriend were doing sexually and flaunting her in front of Cami around work, etc. They both were playing a game with each others emotions like junior high school kids.I wanted to slap Cami to get a dang clue and slap Grayson just because he’s such a d!€k in this book.

Nope

I just couldn’t stand this one. Every major character except the sister is mean, stupid, childish, and selfish. I’m not sure I’m even going to finish it. The female lead makes terrible nonsensical choices. The male lead is mean. So mean I can’t see why she wants him. Her boss is also mean, with absolutely no indication of any redeeming qualities, and her roommate is a selfish idiot.

This is the third novel I’ve listened to by this author, and by far the worst. Don’t know what happened, but she totally missed her mark with this book.

Heroine is the worst

So immature. So spoiled and self involved. Made it impossible to care about what happened. Almost gave up numerous times. Not sure if I will try another RS grey book.

My least favorite of her novels

My least favorite RS Grey novel. Sorry bud. I didn’t like the character development and the betrayal felt shallow. (So much feelings of oh this is going to be a burning car crash! Meh. I’ll do it anyways attitude). Their age gap and overall arc from family friends to lovers wasn’t super believable and the parts that felt believable were reaching into weird obsessive stalker style life choice shaping. The love scenes were closed off and felt like a slam bam quickie instead of a developing relationship.

This could have been a great book

It was just to much she was obsessed with him and he was cruel to her and finally the last 2 chapters were good. I stop several time and thought about not finishing but I liked the first book and wanted to see what happened to them. Sorry I do like your books

A little better than the previous book

Chapter 2: in the 3 hours she waited, couldn't she have called someone to bring pantyhose?

Couldn't Finish it!

I've enjoyed the other 3 or so books I've listened to by R.S.Grey. This one I couldn't stomach. Neither main character was tolerable. Everyone is rude, condescending, and unprofessional. The female protagonist is millenial in the worst sense. She is intelligent but immature and obsessed with her boss who is equally cringe worthy. Narrator was good but the characters were bad enough for me to return the book.

It’s a story, it was cute

I’m kind of over characters doing things that most logical humans would never ever do ever. But I also get that its a story and that’s the point. Still frustrating to read lol but it was cute

Completely unlikable characters

If you hate this book, try some of the authors newer titles, they are way better.
The main character of this book is immature, totally inappropriate, and lacks any self awareness. I really don’t like when characters hear “no” and continue to disregard that and sexually pursue someone. Consent and maturity is sexy!
