Publisher's summary

Jake Matheson can't get Hannah Ashton out of his mind, and he can't wait to take over the reins at his family's ranch, either. Too bad Hannah is about to leave town and his father, Holt, has no intention of retiring. In fact, he's issued an ultimatum - convince Hannah to wed in thirty days, or forget about ever running the ranch. Jake would do just about anything to keep her in Chance Creek - anything but mess with their birth control. Hannah has never been able to control herself around Jake, so when fate throws her together with him, she makes the most of it. Why not have a short-lived fling before she leaves town to go to veterinary school? But when their birth control fails it seems all too convenient a way to keep her in town when she's determined to leave.

Will the truth bring them together? Or tear them apart for good?

Another great story for the Cowboys Of Chance Creek. Two things I really liked about Jake & Heather: Heathers determination to continue her plans for school. And both of their out of the box thinking to find a resolution.

A sweet story

I did enjoy this book, but there were times that I wanted to smack Hannah, Jake, and Jake's father, Holt. Holt basically blackmails his sons to get his way. He tells Jake that he needs to get married or he will lose the ranch to his brother, Ned. Holt blackmails Hannah by threatening to kill and the bison that she adopted. Hannah needs to share a bed with Jake for two weeks.

Hannah and Jake kind of go along with Holt's demands. So many things could have been avoided if the two of them talked and stopped making so many assumptions. The book was cute and frustrating at the same time. I enjoyed the end of the book so I'm glad that I stuck with it.

The Cowboy Lassos a Bride

Would you consider the audio edition of The Cowboy Lassos a Bride to be better than the print version?

The audio version is like watching a movie in my head. The audio is much more fun than just reading it myself.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Cowboy Lassos a Bride?

When Jake realized just who he really was. He was looking over the ranch and considering what it meant to him. He decided that he didn't need his father's approval or his ranch to make himself happy. He decided to do what he wanted to do for once in his life.

Which scene was your favorite?

I thought it was very sweet when Hannah came home and Jake had dinner ready, the house cleaned up and had planned a romantic dinner for the two of them.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I just don't know. Was very frustrated with this book!

Any additional comments?

I have enjoyed the books in this series very much; however, they are all beginning to sound the same just a different plot. The female moans and groans the entire book about being strong and wanting to do her thing with a man and then finally on the turn of a dime changes her mind. I really, really did not like Hannah. She was so hateful to Jake it was unbelievable to me that he hung around as long as he did. When she blamed him for the birth control issue I almost couldn't finish the book. She kept complaining about being a strong woman who didn't need a man but blamed that same man for the birth control. I felt so sorry for Jake. His father was a jerk and Hannah treated him so awful and kept threatening to leave but never would!!!

Love a book about a strong woman

What made the experience of listening to The Cowboy Lassos a Bride the most enjoyable?

The meddling of Jake's father. Sometime you just want to strangle him LOL

What did you like best about this story?

The friendship of the couples in these books. They are strong and loving.

What about Amy Rubinate’s performance did you like?

As always she brings Cora Seton's characters to life. The only thing that bugged me was the way they pronounced Colorado. I'm just silly about things like that. :)

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yep and I did.

Any additional comments?

Cora Seton is an amazing author and doesn't write like most author's do. She helps to increase our vocabulary. She is a wonderful writer with amazing stories that really need to be heard.
