Publisher's summary

One old farmhouse brought them together. It could also tear them apart.

Gigi has just uprooted her whole world to start a new life. The unexpected gift of a farmhouse in small-town Montana is just what she and her daughter need to escape big-city loneliness. The last thing she needs is attitude from the town's sheriff, the most perfectly attractive and ruggedly handsome man she's ever laid eyes on - and a complete jerk.

Jess knows all about women like Gigi. Beautiful. Sexy. Scheming. She's stolen his sanctuary, the farmhouse that should have been his. But along with a face full of freckles, she's got a sharp wit and a backbone of steel - something he doesn't discover until after making a complete fool of himself. If he can earn back her trust and win her heart, he might just find the home he's always needed.

4 The Coppersmith Farmhouse Stars

Ahhh I love a small town romance, Gigi is a woman I can stand behind. She is strong of will and of heart; she makes me proud to be a woman. Yep I said that, not only does she have to deal with a lot in her past but she does it with grace and that is rare.

Jess well he “tried” to be a jerk and he just couldn’t pull it off; I never got the jerky vibe from him even when he was being one. I am glad Gigi finally put him in his place. She laid it out; this is not how you can treat me.

Her daughter Row is the cuties, I love when kids are added into stories it livens it up a little. I enjoyed getting to know some of the secondary characters and I am looking forward to maybe some of these characters in books to come.

I really loved Ava’s narration; she is a narrator I look forward to listening to because she puts emotion into her voice. She draws us in and makes us feel a part of the story. And Joe… well just listen to his voice enough said.

This is a hard book for me to rate since I really didn't like the beginning but loved the middle and ending. In the very beginning I loved Gigi, She was confident and strong and then Jess comes in and takes over her life... seriously takes it over. I really didn't get why she just let him plow right over her and everything she said. I like a good bad guy and an alpha guy just as much as the next guy but in the beginning he was just an a$$hole... and she just acted like he was so pretty it was ok that he acted like that. Once they were together things started to get more normal and he was much more like an alpha good guy than a jerk. By the end of the book I loved Jess and his relationship with Gigi's daughter so much! This book is full of mystery and honestly I knew who the bad guy was right away but I still liked the way the story went. I'm really hoping for a book on Felicity, Jess's sister, she has a story and I want it now.

The narration was good. It was about 80% Ava & 20% Joe and they both did a great job.

Disappointed

The story had a lot of potential, but it dragged on far too long. Jess was a great H, but Gigi -- although she was a strong & sweet person -- was really dull, and I just didn't buy Jess' life-altering attraction to her.

Also, the way the drama at the end played out was just too ridiculous to be believable. I mean, why kidnap her, drag her from her secluded home in the woods to a busy hub of activity in town, then send your henchman back out to the woods to dig the graves while you stay with her and tell her all about your evil scheme and who was in on it with you? Also, why try to kill a first-trimester fetus first when you plan on killing the mother anyway? Entirely too stupid to be entertaining.

I think I'm so disappointed because I really wanted to love it, but between the dull heroine and the inept bad guy I just couldn't.

I finished the book but it was a struggle

The story line was good. Georgia the main female character is an idiot. Jess the main male character was a well written character. I don't see how Georgia can find her way out of a paper bag. Was not happy with the way she acted or the lack of common sense she had.

Disappointed with language

The overall story was okay, just an enjoyable read. I was very disappointed that the author chose to use the "F" word frequently in casual conversation and in describing sexual relationships. It caught me off-guard. I could only listen to the book when I was alone in my car and that's a bit of inconvenience. I wish I had been warned about this aspect of the book; I doubt I would have purchased it.

Not my cup of tea

Alpha controlling man and a woman who needs to grow a backbone. He’s too forceful and doesn’t respect her, walks all over her. Gaslighting. Story could have been good if the characters were better. Also, using “f” or “f-ing” in place of “fuck” was annoying.

Excellent

A little mystery and intrigue mixed with a little fate that brings together a hot alpha male and an independent single mom. All in all it was a really good book that kept my interest and had me listening nonstop.

I did enjoy the secondary characters but I did find there too be such an extensive list of characters that when it came down to the bad guys, I had a hard time bringing the characters to mind because there were just so many.

But other than that, I have no complaints and I think as the series goes on, my issue will become a moot point as I get to know the town better. Very much looking forward to it all.

Ava Erickson and Joe Arden are perfection for these characters and I have nothing but praises to say.

Loved it.

I really loved the story. The narrators voice for Jess did not suit him. Great Story.

Too much profanity.

Good story and basically good writing. The
F-~~ word used so unnecessary and the use of the word “Baby” was so condescending to female character This author is a good story teller and doesn’t need to use such language
Probably want read her again unless I can find a book with less profanity. This book may appeal to rough cowboys or other men who like a good mystery.
