Publisher's Summary

One old farmhouse brought them together. It could also tear them apart.
Gigi has just uprooted her whole world to start a new life. The unexpected gift of a farmhouse in small-town Montana is just what she and her daughter need to escape big-city loneliness. The last thing she needs is attitude from the town's sheriff, the most perfectly attractive and ruggedly handsome man she's ever laid eyes on - and a complete jerk.
Jess knows all about women like Gigi. Beautiful. Sexy. Scheming. She's stolen his sanctuary, the farmhouse that should have been his. But along with a face full of freckles, she's got a sharp wit and a backbone of steel - something he doesn't discover until after making a complete fool of himself. If he can earn back her trust and win her heart, he might just find the home he's always needed.

Meh....

Sweet story but only mildly engaging. What was it missing? Hmmm..., I guess I didn't feel very connected to the characters. Not much back story was offered to give me the desire to see things develop. It was just kind of a year in the life of someone I didn't really care that much about. Like sitting at lunch with my girlfriends listening to them yammering on about stuff that happened to someone I didn't know. Or someone I "ditent" know - as the narrator is one of those. Ugh! Kinda glad when it was over.

Choppy audio

Any additional comments?

This was an ok story for me. I really liked Jess and loved how alpha he was. My problem was with Georgia - I felt that she was always attacking Jess when he was trying to do something for her, and her constant insecurity about why Jess chose her instead of someone that was prettier etc, and also that he was only with her for the farmhouse started to wear really thin. I enjoyed the narrative and found that it was engaging and easy to read.
Unfortunately I felt that the audio was a bit choppy and in come chapters, the narrator really sounded like she was talking in a closed booth! I had to switch to the ebook companion in the last five chapters as it was annoying!
