Final book in the trilogy!

Safe in the ivory tower....

Gabriel Miller swears he'll keep me safe. Enemies lurk outside, waiting to strike. An army held back by these walls. Except some animal instinct warns me the danger is much closer. It's already here. Is Gabriel my protector or my enemy? Is this house a castle or a cage?

There's nowhere for me to go, no one left for me to trust. No escape from a past determined to capture its prize.

The Castle is book three in the Endgame series from New York Times best-selling author Skye Warren about revenge and seduction in the game of love. This is the final novel in the story of Gabriel and Avery.

Amazing Series!!!!

This series has been a magnificent story in every since of the word. I have experienced a range of emotions from anger, fear, sadness, disappointment, joy, excitement, love and many more. It has captivated me in a way I haven’t known in a long time. Skye Warren is a very gifted author and her characters are intriguing. The series offers the first book for holds you until the last page of book 3. Start with book 1 and I promise you will not be disappointed.

Ties up loose ends.

This is part three of a trilogy – not a stand-alone.

The Castle ties up the mystery that arose during the previous books, and solidifies the relationship between the protagonists. The mystery of the heroine’s past is revealed and it is a disturbing, creepy past in a gothic style. This contemporary romance is not where I was expecting to experience gothic.

The first few chapters are from the hero’s point of view. In the case of this story, I would have enjoyed the hero’s point of view read out by a man. I don’t always think that, as it depends on the character and the narrator’s voice. In this case, I could not help but screw up my face as I listened. A man’s voice was needed IMO.

I liked the voice of the narrator generally, but some of her pronunciation threw me off every now and then. For example: ‘fugue state’ was pronounced ‘FUGE’ rhyming with huge. Perhaps that’s how this and other words are pronounced in the U.S? Cultural differences? Also, words ending in ‘ing’ were often pronounced without the g. A little distracting. Still, I prefer this narrator to some others I have heard. She has a lovely, youthful voice that is perfect for this heroine in her early 20s.

I like this author but this series is dark. It’s not for me. She’s written lighter, more romantic work. I’ll look out for more of that.

Intense story. Many unexpected turns.

The story was excellent. My personal preference is to get a few more secrets during the entirety of the trilogy and not so many big ones near the end. It gives me more time to ruminate, experience feelings. I feel the story should have 5 stars despite sometimes making me feel a bit unsure exactly what their feelings were for each other. It was quickly cleared up but a bit confusing.
The narrator did a wonderful job with the exception of mispronunciation of a handful or so of words. I had to giggle when one word was said over and over incorrectly.

All About Dominace

I just felt that this story was to prove how a man much older than a young woman could and exerted his dominant self over her, to the point, she began to believed she was protected as much, if not more by her king, more Iike a rook castles in a game of chess

Very disappointed.

I thought to try audibles in the hopes that listening to a story would be better than mentally correcting the written word....too many misspellings and misusages of the English language. I was extremely disappointed to listen to constant mispronunciations of words. It's hard to enjoy a story where you have to determine what word they're saying and realizing that the mispronunciation also changes the meaning. envelopes/envelopes verb/noun was one on the many I heard. Shame on the performer for not reading ahead and making sure she knows what word is being used.

Gabriel and Avery.. an exciting, well narrated trilogy...

Loved this trilogy and the thrill, danger, playful, sensual sides of the storyline as you travel through each book narrated beautifully by Kylie Scott.
