Publisher's Summary

By edict of the king, the mighty Scottish laird Alec Kincaid must take an English bride. His choice was Jamie, the feisty youngest daughter of Baron Jamison. Alec ached to touch her, to tame her, to possess her forever. But Jamie vowed never to surrender to this highland barbarian.Though his kisses fired her blood, shadowed secrets from Alec's past threatened Jamie's happiness. She brazenly resisted him - until one rapturous moment quelled their clash of wills, and something far more dangerous than desire promised to conquer her heart...

Awesome!!

I am a devoted Julie Garwood Fan..So I was very
happy when the Unabridged version of this book
became available. The Bride was one of Garwoods
earlier books and if you haven't read any of her
historicals I recommend that you do. The Bride as all the elements that a true love story is made of.

An Audible Favorite!

If you could sum up The Bride in three words, what would they be?

Delicious * Emotional * Austen-ish

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Bride?

From beginning to end, I found myself captured by this story. The Bride, by Julie Garwood is very Austen-ish in the quality of her character development and story telling. I loved this book.

Have you listened to any of Rosalyn Landor’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Rosalyn Landor's performance is spectacular.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I could not put this book down, and listened to it well into the night.

Any additional comments?

Loved it!

I loved this book and didn't want it to end! It was full of humour and romance.

The narrator was brilliant. I wish she had read all the Julie Garwood books.

I really recommend The Bride by Julie Garwood to anyone who loves historical romance.

Beautifully read, wonderfully written

A wonderful romance, that takes it's time to realise it is one. Alec Kincaid and his dutiful, subborn and headstrong bride Jamie, are thrown together to please their king after her father decides not to pay his taxes, but pay to keep his favourite, pretty, youngest daughter close at hand as his personal servant. She has learnt to take care of him, their home and fate from a fatherly stable hand, lends to her being married to the fierce some lord Alec of Scotland. It seems everyone will loose, until Alec trusts his English bride in his own castle, and her true character comes through. But not everyone is pleased with this, and there is a n old enemy waiting for her in Scotland, who believes she shouldn't be there at all.

Loved every minute of this story, and beautifully narrated in soft Scottish tones that keep you listening.
