Publisher's summary

For three generations, the curse of the black diamond has haunted her family. Now one woman will try to eliminate it once and for all - but how much is she willing to sacrifice?

Aurora Huntley would rather die than shackle herself to a man she does not love. Powerless to outwardly defy her brother's decree for her marriage, the unconventional noblewoman devises a wickedly outrageous plan. But her scheme backfires when she conspires with a charismatic stranger to orchestrate her fall from grace...and learns who her lover-to-be really is.

Julian Bencroft, the new duke of Morland, did not know that he would share a soul-stirring kiss with Aurora Huntley when he agreed to help her free herself from an arranged marriage. Now he is sworn to combat the long shadow of the diamond that has cursed her family for generations. As he and Aurora embark on a quest for the priceless gem, they plunge into a hotbed of intrigue and deception...and realize how much they'll risk for a love beyond price.

a gem of a story.

Entertaining story line and character development with a bit of a magic seerer. The book evolves around a 60 year mystery of a missing black diamond that left rumors and accusations that pitted two families against each other.

The third generation will decide to solve the mystery of the missing black diamond and clear the names of both families.
I enjoyed this story and it is one of my favorites from this author.

As to Narration, we'll it was OK. The voices took some getting use to, especially the female ones.
Not a favorite person to do narration.

Apart from the ok narration, this story was truly entertaining.

Outstanding! Exciting! Suspenseful, Daring, Racey,

Absolutely loved the story! The narrative could have been better but the story was good enough you will overlook the narrator. There were some parts that had me on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next and others that had me laughing out loud. gonna have to buy the printed copy of this one so I can enjoy it it again without someone else's pronunciations and mis accentuating interfering with the plot.

Horrible narration!!!

Good story but skipped through a lot due to narration.

Natator is awful.
Her women's voices all sounds like Minnie Mouse. She uses inappropriate voice inflection for the context of the scene continuously throughout the story. She often carries syllables far longer than what they should be, totally dragging on words to give more meaning, but at inappropriate times in relation to what's going on. And since she can do an ok male voice, of which all sound like elderly men, she could certainly make the women's voices sound less like abnormally high pitched 7 year old girls.

Not my Favorite Narrator

I enjoyed the story but I could not get past the narration. It took awhile but after going back several times I finished it. I took 2 other books off my wishlist with this narrator as I just don’t enjoy listening to her.

A very shallow and predictable story

The book was ok, but too mundane with a forced mystery solved to conveniently with any excuse for sex.
