Steamy scenes and a well developed story. Very realistic and makes for a great read.

This is A M A Z I N G!

I don't even know what to say about the story. I felt a click listening to this. This shows us how a relationship should be. Tolerance, Trust, Communication and Respect. There's so much going on on my mind and I can't seem to be able to do justice to this book. Can't wait to listen to the other ones.
The only thing that could improve this narration would be a male voice for the sub.

I lover her performance

I reslly enjoyed this and wish it would have been longer. I also really loved the narrator's performance. Most keep flat, regular voices during smutt scenes, but she does great with giving them life without sounding cringy. She also does a good kob at differentiating character voices.

Not true femdom but still better what's out there

I picked this series up because I love femdom/male submissive stories. I'll admit that there aren't a lot of great ones available, especially under audiobook. I'm glad I took a chance on this one because it didn't just feel like erotica to me. Sure the heroine was a sex worker and the way they got together was because he knew she was a pro-domme and wanted to unleash his submissive side with her but I have to say there were a lot of romantic, "normal" times between the two of them. They went out on dates. He took her to his childhood stomping grounds. He brought her to sail on his boat. This wasn't just some "the only time we see each other you're dominating me" type erotic romance. They actually did sweet stuff as a couple and got to know each other. It's very rare to read that in an erotic romance since a lot of what the relationship is brought together by is sex.

I have to say that I never really had a sense of liking either character. I thought they were complete opposites together and wasn't sure I felt their chemistry on the page all the time. I wish there had been some archtype of what sort of Domme she was. She just read as the stereotypical domme that was a sadist and I'd like to see more portrayals of dommes that aren't always into inflicting pain. She didn't really have her life together like I expect a true Domme to. She was a real person I suppose but I would have liked to see her put more control into their relationship. Donovan did a LOT of topping from the bottom. And for that reason, I'm not sure I'd call him a true male submissive.

So I got it that he was alpha, but at times I found him too aggressive, too unlikable and just wanted things his way ALL THE TIME. I kept thinking to myself that no real male sub would be making these many demands. And she never punished him enough to put him in his place. For example, a real Domme doesn't punish with rewards. If a male sub feels gratification and sexual pleasure from pain, then a domme would need to find another punishment because he'll continue to misbehave if he knows he's going to get what he wants. That was basically the whole book. He got what he wanted every time because she didn't know how to discipline him properly. Maybe it's not sexy to make a male sub spend playtime writing out 200 times, I will not misbehave or else I won't get playtime, but it's effective. I wanted to see discipline that corrected behavior and unfortunately I didn't see that.

I will say it was a good blend of eroticism and romance, which isn't always a given with erotic romance so I will be reading further in the series. If you want to read about "normal" acting people going into a BDSM relationship that isn't 24/7, this could be an entertaining read, especially if you're tired of reading male doms all the time. Glad I gave it a chance!

a great bdsm romance

this book is a great bdsm romance that is realistic and not the media flash of what bdsm should feel like. Dont worry its still intense and sexy. I was riveted the entire story and before i was finished i had already baught the next two books in the series. The narrator was well chosen, and does these great noises and strained words throughout. For those kinky people out there, or the forbidden naughty fantasy of Femdom this is a must read.

I really enjoyed this book. I have never read a book in which the Dom and sub roles were switched.
