Justus Jacobi loves three things: her seven-year-old son, landscape design, and the man she sees only once a year. For the past twelve years, they've spent a surreal week together, but Justus has never considered their relationship anything but a dream - especially since they've never exchanged their real names. But when Justus comes to the Texas Rose Ranch to work, fantasy becomes reality fast...
Houston "Rowdy" Rose is an award-winning vintner, the second son in the Texas Rose Ranch dynasty...and the keeper of a secret that, if discovered, would make him an outsider in his own family. If they knew where he went the first week of every September, it would throw into question his reputation - reserved, cautious - revealing an unbridled artistic side he'd rather keep hidden.
But that side of Rowdy is all Justus knows - until now. As they rekindle their passionate relationship in the real world, they learn what their lives look like outside of a once-a-year romance - and whether love can survive a reality check.

Love this series!
This is the second book in this series. Although, you don't have to have read/listened to the previous book, it would help with the family dynamics. I really enjoy Katie Graykowski's writing - she really knows how to make me laugh. I like the way she has written this family and their situations. Natalie Ross does a fantastic job of narrating. Justus and Houston as Justus knows him have met only once a year for 12 years and only use aliases and haven't exchanged contact information. Houston has told her that he doesn't want children so she doesn't tell him that he has a ten year old son. She decides not to meet him this year just as he's deciding to make their relationship more than once a year. Justus takes a landscaping job for her friend at the Texas Rose ranch and runs into Houston not knowing that the ranch is where he lives. His family and the way they accept Justus and her son are amazing. There are a lot of misunderstandings and they have to work through a lot but getting to the end or beginning is a wonderful journey. I can't wait for more in this series!
"Family Sticks Together"
this is a feel good series, that Ms Natalie Ross brings to life. I purchased this author as I am a fan of Reader. Don't change the reader if you want continued success.
Note: I do use the new 1.25x speed.
These are not stand alone books, but a continuing saga of a good family, each with his own story.
Yes, can't wait for next book if Ms Ross does the read. You will want a Lucy in your life, and brothers you can count on to make you laugh.
When the Twins babysit Hugh, with "his weight in popcorn" or "blowing up things"
Loved Rowdy's antics with "Elvis". Hugh will steal your heart as Ms Ross can do kid scenes so well.
These are simple good time reads you don't want to end. It doesn't get better than that!
