I loved watching this family grow! I’m glad that there was no unnecessary angst. Off to the next one.
Jack and Riley have been through a lot in their few years together. Murder, mayhem, a brother that is the worst kind of human being, learning that Riley is a father and welcoming the little girl into their lives. The issues with their parents, siblings and an almost corporate coo. If their lives weren't hectic and bordering on chaotic, I don't think they'd know what to do with themselves, so let's add a baby and a foster child. Merry Christmas!
What I enjoy most about this series, about these men, is the way they love each other. They may be crazy, they may be too busy to do much more than sleep a few hours in the same bed, they may be moody, cranky and bitchy, but at the end of the day they love each other with every fiber of their being. And they are fiercely devoted to their family and the people in their lives. Seriously, I wish they were real and that they were my friends, how much fun life would be.
If you're a fan of the Author or the series, then you've already listened, right? Sean Crisden continues to carry this zany cast of characters and continues to do an amazing job. Every person is clearly visible and conveyed well. I think my favorite voice would be the one he uses for Jack. "I love you het boy!"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, I'd recommend this entire series. It's fabulous.
What does Sean Crisden bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Sean's voice is Jack and Riley now, I couldn't imagine anyone else narrating this series, he's fast becoming my favourite narrator.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I did :)
Any additional comments?
The Texas Series is one of my comfort reads, I can't count how many times I've read it and I can't wait to have the whole series in audio.
