Cool Cover, Great Story!
I loved this book. It is a different take on the whole Paranormal/Romance genre.
Don't let the cover scare you off, like it almost did to me. The book was highly recommend over on the GoodReads website. I am glad that I took their advice.
I guess this is the first book in a series, but to tell you the truth, it was a stand alone novel. I would recommend it to fans of "One Foot In The Grave". It's that good.

Boring
I can see from all the ratings and reviews that precede mine that I am in the minority here, but let me put my two cents worth in here anyway. I can see why many young women might like this story. There is lots (LOTS) of sex with a hunky vampire. Also there is much description of cute, expensive new clothes that the heroine gets. (As a new school teacher, while trying to do a brainstorming activity, I discovered to my dismay that not a single girl in all my classes had any wishes she would admit to in public besides new clothes of one kind or another.)
The beginning was very promising. Here is this young woman who loves swimming in cold, dangerous waters and who is strong enough to throw a dead body over her shoulder and carry it up the beach. But then she never really does anything with it. The story quickly devolves into a boyfriend story. The boyfriend takes her here and there. They have some ordinary, vanilla sex that she likes. The boyfriend buys her new clothes. They have more vanilla sex. A bad guy threatens her, but the boyfriend takes care of it and they have more sex...
That is apparently enough for the majority of people who have rated this book here. It wasn't enough for me. I'm not young and horny anymore. A sex scene has to be outstanding to get my attention now. None of these were. I wanted to see a young woman with unknown powers discovering and using them. That is held out as a promise for future entries in this series, but I won't be reading them. If you are a young horny woman who loves clothes, this book may really ring your bell. If you are a man or an older woman, probably not.

So bad
I accidentally went from book one to book three and didn't notice. Both were so average & I couldn't handle hearing about her libido anymore. If you like the Twilight series it may entice you but I feel more stupid for having read it.
