Mmm! Pork Roast! xD

The story was decently written. Short and sweet, with a hint of disturbing vengeance.

The main characters were likeable. Overall, I enjoyed it!

Angel Clark's narration made it worth listening to, and I'm glad I didn't judge this book by its cover.

Just weird.

A teenage girl gets bullied by everyone, a boy with a mysterious illness moves into the house next door. The girl befriends the boy and her bullies start turning up dead.

Honestly, everything about this short story is weird. When the main characters reaction to having eaten human flesh (unbeknownst to her at the time) is essentially „Huh, they are vampires so I guess it makes sense that my portion was human flesh too“, then you know you have a problem.

Whatever, I got this one for free and the Narration was decent.

You REALLY have to suspend disbelief for this one.

The only unbelievable part of the story was everyone's expectations and reactions. Like was Sammy really bullied because she was a tomboy? Geez...how old is she supposed to be? This reminds me of elementary school antics, not high school. If that's her represented on the on the cover, then maybe the other girls were jealous of her genes? However, I can see the teachers ignoring all of the bullying as realistic. They probably don't get paid enough in that small town to intervene. Sad, but it happens. Heck, it happens everyday, where it's just easier to pretend something isn't happening than having to deal with the problem head on. What's also sad, was her low self-esteem. Hence why I'm glad she was able to find comfort hanging around the new neighbours. Then things got super weird...like another reviewer mentioned, who reacts that calmly about finding out about eating human flesh? Gross. And is it possible to fall in love after just a few days? Infatuation, maybe. I suppose "love" may blind people to red flags so of course the vampire part wouldn't phase her, but how would she know if their "relationship" would last? I'm totally overthinking things, hah. Thankfully I was able to listen to this for free. The narration was good, so there's that too.
