Publisher's Summary

Paullina Simons's internationally best-selling blockbuster The Bronze Horseman told the heart-soaring tale of a young Russian woman's transcendent love affair with a Red Army soldier during the siege of Leningrad in the dark days of World War II. The epic story continues in Tatiana and Alexander - a novel of the enduring power of love and commitment against the devastating forces of war and the equally dangerous forces of keeping the peace. A sweeping, intensely compelling romantic historical saga, Tatiana and Alexander is a Russian Thorn Birds, and a truly unforgettable listening experience.

Second time around, still good

In this second book in the series, the storytelling is still masterful; the performance spellbinding. I did find that a lot of the material from the first book was recycled in this one so would not rate it as highly as the first Still, suspenseful and a highly entertaining listening experience.

One of the best sequels ever written

Which character – as performed by James Langton – was your favorite?

Every character!! James Langton is phenomenal. How he can transition from character to character so seamlessly amazes me. His performance in this trilogy is truly outstanding. He brings something different to every character that you wouldn't get from just reading the book. Instead of feeling like you're listening to a book, you almost feel emerged in the story and it's happening right in front of you. Bravo to James Langton.

Any additional comments?

Typically I find the second book of a trilogy to be the least enjoyable. Yes, this book is more about the struggles and revelations of the characters. However, Paullina Simons weaves the past and present beautifully together to tell an engrossing continuation of the incredible predecessor, TBH. This story was just as beautiful and exciting as the first. What more to say?! This trilogy is beautiful!!
