Publisher's summary

There’s a thin line between hate and tolerance, and it seems to sit squarely between us. Lola Bell could easily bring an army of men to their knees, as long as she never opened her mouth. She’s soft in too many ways. A people-pleaser who goes the extra mile. Some might call her an easy target. In short, she has all of the qualities that I despise. But when it comes to me, she doesn’t hesitate to fling her poison arrows my way. She has every right to her feelings. Over the years, I’ve given her plenty of ammo. Yeah, I hate Lola. But it doesn’t stop me from wanting her too. When she makes me a proposition I can’t refuse, there’s just one problem. She tastes so f*cking sweet. So f*cking good. So f*cking mine.

Sweet & sinful

I think sweet and sinful are the perfect words to sum up this book. Although A Zavarelli is known for dark, this book is not dark. It’s angsty and lovely and emotional and heated. I truly enjoyed it.

Aaron Shedlock made for a perfect Dare. So incredibly confident and cocky, with this whole emotional and sweet side that was limited to his internal dialogue that Aaron made reality.

Tracy Marks was brilliant, as she always is for A Zavarelli characters. It’s almost as though they are written for her inflection and tone. Although I enjoy Tracy in all that she does, Zavarelli books are especially a favorite of mine.

Good story, great narration

This story was just okay for me. As expected, there’s a lot of steamy sex but, the story and female lead leave something to be desired. There were numerous eye-roll moments and situations that are a real stretch of the imagination. I can’t explain without giving spoilers so just listen and decide for yourself - you may find you love it and I’m too critical. Either way, you will enjoy it because the narration is superb. As always, Aaron Shedlock and Tracy Marks give outstanding performances. I received a review copy at my request and voluntarily reviewed.

✫✫ 3.5 Stars ✫✫

This book was sweet and sexy! While I'm a little bored with this trope since this is the 3rd new release I've listened to in 1 week with that same story line, this one was a little different. It was a little darker and I love a dark "bad boy" with a softer side. I enjoyed this book a lot more than I thought I would when I realized the story line.

Aaron Shedlock is awesome as always!!! He is great with the cocky bad boy and the softer and sweet side too so he really nailed Daire's character perfectly. Tracy Marks is also an incredible narrator, she really brought Lola to life! These two narrators really compliment each other so well.

Pulling My Hair

This is one of the most frustrating books ever. I had to force myself to finish it , but the narrators did a fantastic job. I just don’t like when the characters act so stupid, and the stupidity goes on for years.

Great story, amazing narration!

I really appreciate my listen. This was my first A Zavarelli's book and won't be the last. I loved Dare and Lola's story. The narration was very great. I'm looking forward for more books from this author and narrators!

Tap Left

Loved the narrators but the story didnt work for me.

I am a big fan of A. Zavarelli's mafia romance books, but this one felt flat and just like any other NA which features an asshole "hero".

What a terrific mess!

This couple is the most messed up, tragically beautiful couple ever!
Have to be read to be believed and understood.
Realistic and gritty.
Loved it!

Exciting and Intoxicating Romance!

There is a fine line between love and hate and Lola is about to cross that line with Daire. They have a long, heartbreaking, and complicated history. Lola doesn't understand why Daire insists on being in her life when they both hate each other. Daire is successful, confident and a philanderer. So when Lola wants to find a good man to share her life, she asks him to teach her how to be seductive. Daire realizes that he finally has his chance to prove to Lola that he is not the loathsome man he once was and will do whatever it takes to make her his. This story is multifaceted with complex characters that morph and grow. Their journey is filled with heartbreak, guilt, closely guarded secrets, hope, desire, and fiery passion.
Narrators Tracy Marks, and Aaron Shedlock were superb at bringing these complicated characters to life. Their interpretations of Lola and Daire allowed us to see them with empathy and understanding.
The ending to this exciting and intoxicating romance is totally worth the journey.

Tap Left

What a great book! I loved hearing the back story to these two and then seeing the way they grow. Love and hate are truly only separated by a thin line between the two emotions. So much pain and angst that these two felt and I was right along with them. I loved seeing the way this story ends and was glad to see that they were able to let go of the pain from their past. The narration and writing of this book is great and would recommend to all my friends.

Tap Awesome!

What a perfect trifecta of A Zavarelli, Tracy Marks and Aaron Shedlock! I started listening to this book with no preconceived notions of what the story was about and I was blown away. The book is not dark, but it does have some tragedy and miscommunications. I loved the POV chapters with the insights into the characters. This book is a standalone listen and does not have any characters from other books by the author. I loved the character of "That Guy" in the story. He was charming and had depth to him, along with being very intuitive. The author does such a fantastic job of adding unexpected twists into her books. I will definitely listen to this book again and I highly recommend it.
