Publisher's summary

Cash is alive. But who knows how bad he's hurt. There was an explosion, and he won't wake up.

It's the phone call that any Titan wife dreads, and the one that brings Nicola Garrison to her knees in tears. Crying and praying for Cash to wake up, she has one secret to tell him and now it might be too late.

"I'm pregnant. You're going to be a daddy." Practicing the words a million times didn't matter if he wasn't coming home.

In her rush to save him, she lets down her guard. One slip. One tiny mistake. That is all it takes to let years of protecting her identity fall apart. Her time in witness protection, then at the CIA is called into question by someone who has the power to end her life - and the baby she's carrying.

As the game of shadows and spooks, mobsters and goons comes back to hunt Nicola, survival takes on new meaning - protecting her baby, her husband, and her life - forcing her to make a choice that would kill her anyway in the end.

Nicola and Cash, short story

Quick short story about Cash's traumatic experience. This is meant to be read after Hart Attack and is an expansion into Nicola's Pregnancy. As with all of the Titan team's experiences, there us always an element of danger and bad guys to wrangle with.
Another good storytelling by Jeffrey Kafer.

Sweet One

The third story about Cash and Nicola, they are a favorite couple. After their college romance being interrupted with "her death" or rather being put in witness protection, then being reunited to work on a case together, finally they are reunited...until an explosion puts Cash's life in question. Can he recover from the devasting attack?

While he is going through recovery to determine if his injuries will allow him to return to active duty with Titan, an old enemy resurfaces. The crime she witnessed all those years ago was a murder by a crime family. They are notorious for leaving no witness and no one close to the witness. Once again they are after Nicola.

Listen to Titan come to help one of their own. Cash refuses to allow his weakness and not fully healed body keep him from protecting his family.

Cash and Nicola are among my favorites!

If you could sum up Sweet One in three words, what would they be?

Emotionally, Suspenseful and Brilliant

What was one of the most memorable moments of Sweet One?

Cash's love for Nicola and their unborn child!

Have you listened to any of Jeffrey Kafer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

He is among my favorite narrators. I would highly recommend him to others. In fact, I have actually found new authors because he is the narrator!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely...YES!!!

Any additional comments?

Sweet One is a fantastic novella that specifically focus upon Cash and Nicola Garrison. In Hart Attack, book 7 of the Titan series, Cash is badly injured. This book simultaneously is written at the same time line, but focuses upon Cash and Nicola's experience. Nicola has just found out she is pregnant and has yet to tell her husband when he is left in a coma after being on a mission.

As a huge fan of the Titan series, I think Cristin Harber does a fantastic job of letting her fans know shat happened to Cash and Nicola during his recovery. She still keeps the romance, suspense and intense story lines woven into this teriffic novella. She does a magnificent job creating a completely new story, while enhancing the entire series. I have to say, I could not put this book down, as I had to know what happened next!

PS - Jeffrey Kafer does an excellent job of narrating this fantastic story. His contribution as a narrator only enhances Cristin's brilliance as an author. This dynamic duo have become among my favorite author/narrator teams! I can't wait to see what they have in store for me next!

His speach and motor functions are impaired and he is afraid he will be fired. then we have a return of the Mob family that sent Evie into witness protection for 10 years.

Not as good as the others in the series

I was so exciting to finish Nic and Cash's story but it fell far short from expectation. no excitement no thrills. just oh here let's exchange and call it good. not "action packed" like the others.

Resolution finally for Sweet Girl

If you are reading these in order this one has been mis-numbered. It falls somewhere in the middle of Roman and Beth’s book so If I had it to do over I would read it right after Savage Heart. The story is mercifully short since. Part of it deals with Cash’s worries and impatience over recovering from brain injury. Nic also has the shortest labor and delivery ever which is ridiculous, and we never did find out what was the problem or whether it was just false labor with her abrupt departure from Lexi and Parker’s party. Also where is Beth since they were going to be each other’s support in pregnancy. So while we get closure - we hope- with the mob, there are still unanswered. Questions.
