Publisher's summary

Sweet with Heat: Seaside Summers features a group of fun, flirty, and emotional friends who gather each summer at their Cape Cod cottages. They're sassy, flawed, and so easy to relate to, you'll be begging to enter their circle of friends!

Sunsets at Seaside by Addison Cole is the sweet edition of New York Times best-selling author Melissa Foster's steamy romance novel Seaside Sunsets. The stories and characters remain the same, and convey all of the passion you expect between two people in love, without any explicit scenes or harsh language.

In Sunsets at Seaside....

Jessica Ayers has lived a sheltered life with little more than cello lessons and practices taking up her day. Now a member of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, she escapes the prim and proper symphony to vacation in the Seaside community in Wellfleet, Massachusetts, to determine if she is living life to the fullest or missing it altogether.

For the first time since developing the second largest search engine in the world, billionaire Jamie Reed is taking the summer off. He plans to work from the Cape and spend time with his elderly grandmother - and falling in love is not in his plans.

From the moment Jamie and Jessica meet, the attraction is white-hot. Once-overly-focused Jamie can think of little else than sweet, smart, and alluring Jessica, and Jessica discovers a side of herself she never knew existed. But when Jamie's business encounters trouble and his attorney and best friend intervenes, he proves that the brown-haired beauty is too distracting for Jamie. To make matters worse, it appears that Jessica might not be who she says she is, turning Jamie's life - and his heart - upside down. In a world where personal information is always one click away, Jamie must decide if he should trust his heart or watch the woman he loves walk away.

The Perfect Summer Escape to Seaside!

Really enjoyed the Audible version of Sunsets at Seaside by Addison Cole!

First and foremost the narrator did a great job of differentiating the characters so that I could easily tell who was speaking. She did a good job of giving the characters their own personalities throughout to bring depth to the story.

Jamie and Jessica had an instant connection as soon as they met, and I LOVED the development of their relationship. Jessica was so endearing and adorable. I liked that she was a cellist, such a unique profession, and she really had no idea who Jamie was. Add all of this to Jamie's unavoidable distraction when it comes to Jessica, and you have the recipe for a great book.

Every visit back to Seaside in Addison's book is a fun trip I enjoy without fail. Her books take you on a vacation to visit old friends, meet new ones, and find love in unexpected places. With all going on in the world today, Sunsets at Seaside is the perfect summertime escape we all need. Although the book can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading books 1-3 as well to get the full Seaside experience!

Sunsets at Seaside

Jessica Ayers is looking for some time to re-evaluate her very sheltered and structured life as a cellist for the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Luckily, she's been able to find it in Seaside, for the most part. When she unexpectedly runs into Jamie Reed, also on summer break at Seaside, the sparks fly. But when their real lives threaten to break through, will their relationship survive?

Again, I thought that Melissa Moran did an excellent job with the narration. She has been stellar for this entire series so far, and I really enjoy listening to these books. A good narrator makes all the difference!

I think it also helps that I wasn't really expecting Jamie to be the next Seaside resident to have a story. I had pegged Amy as the next one but, assuming Addison Cole wants to string that storyline along a little further, I was pleasantly surprised with Jamie and Jessica.

I liked the fact that Jessica, obviously, is an outsider in Seaside. It's been a couple of books since we've had someone who was new on the scene and it's like a breath of fresh air. I loved getting a new perspective about all my favorite characters, but I also loved how seamlessly she fit in with everyone too.

I felt like Jamie and Jessica, moreso than the other couples, were most effected by outside conflict. In Jessica's case, the fact that eventually she'll have to make some decisions about what she wants out of her life, and Jamie, he finds out that, try as he might, it's more difficult to unplug from the outside world, especially when it comes to the business he created. I felt like those outside forces really made Sunsets at Seaside a compelling read.

Their romance is really a whirlwind, completely unexpected, yet something more substantial than either were looking for. I loved the way it plays out. I like that this story moves a little more beyond Seaside than the previous ones.

Addison Cole keeps teasing readers with Tony and Amy's story and goes a long way in this one to keep that trend going. I'm excited that it seems like the story I've been waiting for will finally be next, but I really enjoyed this side trip, so to speak, with characters I ended up really rooting for.

Jamie and Jessica

I recently had the opportunity to listen to the audiobook of this story. Narrator Melissa Moran does a great job! I really enjoyed listening to her voices and inflections. Jessica seemed more human here. A nice few hours of listening pleasure. My original review follows:

Jessica is renting an apartment at Seaside for the summer. She’s taking a sabbatical from her career as a cellist for the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Also in the neighborhood for the summer is Jamie Reed, self-made billionaire and quite the catch. He’s there to spend time with his grandmother and some of his friends. When Jessica meets Jamie, sparks fly.

Addison Cole writes stories that are “sweet with heat”. This story fits right in there. It will keep you entertained from the start. It’s great as a stand-alone, but as the 4th book in the series, you can catch up with old friends while Jamie and Jessica fall in love. The writing is wonderful, the characters are like old friends, and the story - well, you should read it!

Finally more about Jamie

Jessica was a great match for Jamie. A technology illiterate cello player falling for a tech guru was a good twist and the name twist kept me on my toes. Now I can’t wait till tony pulls his head out of his butt.

Lovely!

4.5 stars.

*UPDATED*

I recently listened to this as audiobook and like the rest of the series, it was super lovely.

I gotta say, there’s something about the narrator’s voice that is sort of calming and captivating. Once I start listening, not only the story grabs me, but the narrator’s voice does as well.

I totally recommend not only the story (see review below), but also this audiobook for those of us audio lovers. <3

*Thank you to the author for providing a copy for which I’m giving my honest opinion*

*************************************************

This was just as lovely as the series so far.

In this one we get to know Jessica and Jamie. Much like the rest of the people in the Seaside community, Jessica goes there to relax and escape her troubles. I have to say, with each book in this series, I fall more and more in love with Seaside, what a lovely place to hang out!

Anyway, that’s where Jessica and Jamie meet and fall for each other. I loved these two, I loved how great they were for each other, not just romantically, but in their personal lives. They were such focused people, and I loved how they changed each other for the best, and allowed themselves to have fun.

This was a sweet read and a great addition to the series. These books may be more on the sweeter side, but they don’t lack passion and heat. <3

*I was given an ARC of this book in exchange of my honest opinion*

A flying cell phone leads to love??

Jamie is one of the men of Seaside, he spends a lot of time with his grandma, Vera and uses it as a respite from his life as a technology wizard. Jessica is a world- class incredibly accomplished cellist and takes a summer off to find herself. What Jessica was expecting was to find a name like Jamie in her life. Their story starts hilariously with a flying cell phone and ends with a tuxedo - in between read about the self- discovery of both Jamie and Jessica.

Listening to Ms. Moran narrate this novel allow d me to really immerse myself into Jamie and Jessica and for me I found it to be a great soundtrack as I allowed my mind to imagine Jessica playing her cello or Vera playing her violin - the narration really allowed me to lose myself in Seaside and their beautiful music.

I particularly enjoyed this novel - you will not be disappointed and maybe it will even give you a pause to think about your dreams like Jessica requires of herself.

Sweet with Heat Jessica and Jamie

Melissa Moran is the perfect narrator for these Sweet with Heat audiobooks. Addison Cole writes a wonderful story with amazing characters and Melissa Moran takes those words and makes the stories come alive. Usually with audiobooks I read the written book first so I am familiar with the story which makes hearing the narrator read it to me that much better. I know what is going to happen but I get to hear the emotions, the feelings, and the voices of the characters.

Sigh, these characters are such amazingly sweet, loyal, and loving. They are friends first and foremost yet are not afraid to call you out, make bets about your love life, and giggle at your mistakes. They are the first to come to your defense, defend you to outsiders, and yell from the rooftops all your good qualities. I want to be a Seaside Girl.

Jamie, who won my over with his love for his grandmother in other books in this series, is a character that I couldn’t wait to find out more about. Jamie, the geeky computer guy, and the new girl Jessica are perfect for each other. The respect and trust they have for each other from their very first meeting was wonderful. There was no pressure to take the relationship to the next level, no pressure to spill all their secrets right away, and no pressure to be anyone but themselves with each other.

The Sweet with Heat: Seaside Summers Series is phenomenal. I am anxious to learn more about the characters and get caught up on the HEA’s that characters are already living. I love that past characters are still in all the books and that with each book there are new characters introduced leading me to believe that this series may go on forever, which I will love.

Return to Seaside

Sunsets at Seaside is the story of Jessica and Jamie. Jamie is a computer nerd and part time resident of the wonderful community of Seaside. Jessica is a world class cello player who has a real dislike for technology just trying to get away from her daily life. Enter a dropped phone, an autographed baseball and you have a love story in the making. Both Jamie and Jessica had non traditional childhoods which have limited their experiences so they have some hurdles to overcome before they can move on to forever love. The narrator does a wonderful job changing their voice ever so slightly so it makes the story even more enjoyable. This is Addison Cole's 4th book. It has the perfect mix of sweet and heat to make it a very enjoyable summer (or really anytime) read. Just be warned - you will get sucked into the whole Seaside family! Enjoy!

Jamie + Jessica = Just Right!

Jamie is a programmer and the founder of OneClick, a search engine that is only second place to Google. He is focused on his work yet a good friend and amazing support to his Grandmother Vera and his friends at Seaside. He decides to attempt a vacation and plans to spend his summer at Seaside, rather than the occasional weekend he typically spends.

Jessica is a cellist, on hiatus from the Boston Symphony Orchestra. She has devoted a majority of her life to being the best cellist possible, with little time for anything else. Even the chance to have a break in the first place was difficult for her to obtain. Jessica chooses to spend her vacation in Seaside, where she rents an apartment.

Jessica and Jamie meet unexpectedly, when Jessica, who isn't a fan of technology, gets frustrated and throws her phone, which then strikes Jamie as he walks by. They meet and despite their differences, are drawn to each other.

Jessica is reserved and inexperienced, but Jamie makes her feel at ease immediately. They have to balance their urges with getting to know each other better. The question is, will they know each other well enough to overcome obstacles when their relationship and Jessica's past comes into question?

I loved listening to this book after reading it when it was originally released in print. I loved "watching" these two get to know each other and grow closer. I also loved how quickly Jessica was brought into the fold with the other Seaside girls!
