Sweet and Sultry Southern Goodness!

The Sunset Plains collection is fantastic. Lindzee has written two wonderful stories here. The characters are well developed and the stories flow into each other seamlessly. Stacey Glembowski is a great narrator. Listening to audio books more and more, I get nervous about the quality of the narration. Stacey was pleasantly surprising in detailing her tone for each character. I hope Lindzee uses her again, because I can’t wait to hear more!

Sweet Home Oklahoma

I read each of these novellas awhile back and enjoyed them, so when I had a chance to listen to the new AUDIO version I jumped at it. I've copied portions of my original reviews below because they still apply. In addition, narrator Stacey Glemboski, who has just enough twang that I can easily believe she's from Oklahoma, offered vocalizations and characterizations that were absolutely on target. Listening to the two related (albeit independent) stories one after the other was icing on the cupcake! DEE-lightful!

"Cupcakes & Cowboys"
This bright and breezy romance struck all the right chords: good guys, bad guys, a feisty heroine and a fabulous setting, well written and charming. Of course, I grew up with cowboys in the movies and on TV so my nostalgia bone was on high alert but Ms. Armstrong got the details right as past tragedy is overcome and true love wins out. (No spoilers--we know this MUST occur because it is an HEA [a Happily Ever After]!)

"Twisters and Textbooks"
This fast-paced story is about love, loss, and chasing tornados. The drama and danger of an unpredictable funnel of incredible power and utter indifference is well captured as is the suffocating feeling of being wrapped in cotton wool by an overprotective loved one trying to make the hurt go away.
