Publisher's summary

I'm looking for a hero. Not.

You'd think as a new college grad I'd be looking for the perfect job and the perfect man. Well, I'm not. Summer is here, and instead of plotting my future, I'm playing in the Hamptons with my two best friends. Sun and sex is all I'm looking for. Then I meet Sean Dempsey, my fantasy lifeguard in the flesh. But he is more than just a hot bod with a whistle. And after he makes a daring save, I'm thinking a hero is exactly what I've been looking for all along.

To the rescue....

By day, I guard the beaches in the Hamptons; by night, I've had my fair share of summer flings. Then I meet Kelsey Mitchell, a girl with eyes like the setting sun, and I burn for more - something I have no right to ask of her...forever.

Love burns hotter in the Hamptons. Come play.

Easy "Beach" Listen Warning:Some Naughty Bits

Kelsey is spending the summer in the Hamptons with a couple of her well-to-do friends. She has a classic car and beautiful body but that is about it as far as blending in.

Sean is the local summer lifeguard. He watches for beach goers & trains other lifeguards during the day and attends pool parties at night – professionally.

The instant Kelsy and Sean meet they have a connection. After a few run-ins with each other they need to make some choices.

Sean is headed for boot camp at the end of the summer and Kelsey has no clue what she will do when summer ends. She is adrift, having just graduated college and not especially excited about her career path.

Will their summer romance hurt them? Will it help? Can they keep their fling within their deadline – the end of the summer?

I have listened to one other book by Liz Matis. It was a while ago so I cannot remember the details but I do know that I enjoyed it. I like Summer Dreams even more. A sweet, short story with some rather descriptive spice!

While *I did agree to listen to this book in exchange for my review, it was great and not a chore, at all. I would recommend this book for any audience who is looking for something that isn't really heavy. As I said, this is pretty light reading. Candy for your ears!

Maren McGuire was fantastic and I will look for more for work. The chapters alternated between the two main characters and I don't think that was necessary with this performer. I knew by her tone if it was Sean or Kelsey.

Notes:Mature themes and strong language

Stars: Overall 4, Performance 4 , Story 5

I appreciate you taking the time to read my review. I find that reviews help me in deciding whether or not to purchase a books, especially new authors or performers. Sometimes they are helpful and sometimes they're not. If you found this review helpful would you take a moment and select 'YES' below the next paragraph?

Feel free to follow me on Audible. My favorite books are contemporary romance and books by authors like Vince Flynn who wrote counter-terrorism, thrillers. However, you will find reviews from all genres that have asked me to listen for a review.

Authors & narrators, please feel free to take my review to any other media that you would like. Please include "review from DK via Audible" and it links back to this site. Thanks!

More Than Summer Fun?

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes! It was a really fun listen... Though I would reccomend ear buds or headphones :) There are many steamy parts that could cause embarrassment if you are caught listening!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Summer Dreaming?

When Kelsey met Sean and he was pretending to buy sanitary napkins while she was buying pads! It was too funny :)

Which scene was your favorite?

The last beach scene was my favorite! Everything seemed to come together right then and there :)

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book made me laugh quite a few times! I was really glad I was home alone when I listened to it. No way I would have wanted to explain why I was laughing so hard!

Any additional comments?

This series is written by three separate authors but is probably best listened to (or read) in order. This is the first book.

Kelsey has just graduated college and is gearing up for one last summer of fun before she decides what to do with her life. Her father's death a year ago still overshadows everything for her, especially while driving the Shelby he painstakingly restored over a ten year period. He left her the car and it is the only thing she has left of him. She is determined to have fun with her two best friends before they go their separate ways. A summer free of anything but them and fun in the Hamptons is just what she needs! Who is the incredibly confident guy who followed her into the store? Should she give him a real chance? Or should she just have a meaningless fling and forget him before she knows him?

Sean is determined to enjoy his last summer at home in the Hamptons. He will lifegaurd during the day and party all night! Maybe he will find another fun, rich, spoiled summer girl to break his heart and make leaving easier! Who is the gorgeous blond with the hot rod that has so captivated him? Will she be the last summer girl to break his heart before he ships off to Basic Training? Or does he hope for more? Or will she be like all the others?

***This series is suitable for adult readers who like fun and flirty summer romance coming of age stories with alot of heart and quite a bit of steam :)
