Publisher's Summary

Post Magical Syndrome (PMS) can be a real witch. Ivie McKie isn't your run-of-the-mill kindergarten teacher. After an encounter with a horny goat, Ivie has a confrontation with her lying, cheating fiance. She is shocked when the big jerk suddenly transforms into a skunk-the black and white furry variety. Enlisting the help of her shopaholic friend Chloe and sexy club magician Jackson Blake, Ivie is forced to play a literal game of cat and mouse as she races against the clock to change her ex back before she's arrested for his murder. With every new spell, a fresh wave of sexual desire draws Jack further into Ivie's troubles, along with her panties, the car, the kitchen, and assorted seedy bathrooms. Ivie soon discovers what every witch worth her spell book knows: There's nothing worse than a bad case of PMS.

Not a romance novel even with a HEA

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No. Although the basic story line is somewhat interesting and different, the author seemed to feel it necessary to write one or two Speedy Gonzalez meaningless sex scenes in almost every chapter.

Have you listened to any of Kathryn Merry’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

The narrator did a good job but I have not listened to other books by her.

Was Suddenly Sorceress worth the listening time?

Definitely not worth the time. Much of the story is totally not realistic. A famous gorgeous magician who has a show in Vegas falls desperately in love with a stranger after only knowing her for a few days and insists on an immediate wedding. Get real!

Any additional comments?

All of that meaningless sex by a nympho with an over active libido would be better off in a story aimed at male readers. I think the story has a lot of potential that the author didn't bring out.

A Bad Attempt at a Magical 50 Shades Rip Off

What would have made Suddenly Sorceress better?

I was really disappointed with this book. I usually love this genre but Suddenly Sorceress reads like a bad attempt at combining witchcraft and porn. I'm not a prude in any sense but the sex scenes got old really, really fast in this book. It was one of the few titles I've given up on halfway through.

Has Suddenly Sorceress turned you off from other books in this genre?

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator didn't have much to work with honestly.

What character would you cut from Suddenly Sorceress?

The main character. I couldn't find anything likeable or believable about her.

Any additional comments?

There is A LOT of sex in this book. Not particularly interesting sex either.
