Publisher's Summary

Only fools fall in love...
After her senior year of high school leaves behind nothing but heartache, Olivia Beaumont is sure of this: She's no stupid girl. She sets out for Winston College, promising herself that she will remain focused on her first and only love - astronomy. But all it takes is cocky sophomore Brax Jenkins and an accidental collision with a football, to throw her entire year off course.
A quick-tempered Southie who escaped the inner city streets of Boston to pitch for Winston, Brax is known to play way more fields than just the baseball diamond. So, when his name is drawn to take part in his fraternity's hazing dare, Brax eagerly accepts the mission to take Olivia's virginity. But he doesn't plan on falling hard for the sweet and sassy Texas girl who sees right through his bad-boy persona.
As Olivia and Brax battle their feelings for each other, echoes of the past year begin to surface. A boy who once turned Olivia's whole world upside down reappears, and "harmless" pranks wreak havoc. Pretty soon the aspiring astronomer is on the verge of revealing her most difficult, heartbreaking secret. All the while, Brax must wrestle with the irrevocable dare, and Olivia struggles against all logic as she does the one thing only a stupid girl would do: Fall in love.

Simply terrible

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

This was so bad that around hour 7 I gave up. The boyfriend is simply sleazy, and a caricature of a foul-mouthed tough guy. The "humor" is at a fifth-grade level: "She belongs in a loony bin. cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs." The narrator gamely tried, but wasn't up to doing either a Texas or a South Boston accent. Having lived in Houston, and near Boston, I can tell you neither was even close, and they kept blending into each other. And the supposed cowgirl expressions were excruciatingly trite. The worst thing was it was extremely repetitive. It was a 6-hour story crammed into 10-plus hours. Wish I could get my money back. Did I mention the logical lapses?

What do you think your next listen will be?

I'll look for something else narrated by Shannon McManus. Not only is she excellent, every story I've listened to that she's done has at least been very good.

Would you be willing to try another one of Elizabeth Evans’s performances?

No, thank you

What character would you cut from Stupid Girl: Stupid in Love, Book 1?

The two main characters

Suprisingly Good!!

the story is surprisingly good...at first I read the summary and thought it was alright, but what drawn me to actually purchase the book was the title 'Stupid Girl'.

Elizabeth Evans did a great job!!

Twilight style story line

Nice story but not very original. A cross between twilight (sans vampires) and the movie she's all that.
