Publisher's summary

The first wedding night that Lady Juliana St. Albans spent with the dark and daring Rhys Vaughan was intoxicating, the heady culmination of her new husband's driving hunger and her own awakened sensuality. When he mysteriously disappeared the next morning, she waited for him in hope and desperation. And when he was finally proclaimed dead in a shipwreck, she bitterly mourned the loss of her love.

The second wedding night that Juliana spent with Rhys Vaughan was six years later, after he returned to claim her just as she was about to wed another. This Rhys was different - bolder, harder, and convinced that she'd betrayed him. Only their blazing passion remains from their years apart. But is it enough to light their way through the maze of mystery, menace, and mistrust - to the love they once shared and would have to find again?

Critic reviews

"A fast-paced historical romance that not only delivers all the boldly sensual passion Jeffries' readers have come to expect, but also makes wonderful use of its refreshingly different Welsh setting." ( Booklist)

Excellent

I enjoyed the story and the characters, sure I wanted to smack georgianna when she left a note, but a good story will make you feel your emotions. Narration was excellent, she always does a fantastic job with any book I’ve heard her narrate. Sabrina keep up the great work.

Wonderful

This story was unique and full of plot twists. I found myself invested in the characters and their story by the end of the prologue. Exceptionally well written and absolutely enjoyable.

Wasn't as well written or read as previous novels

Would you try another book from Sabrina Jeffries and/or Carmen Rose?

Yes but not read by Carmen Rose

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

The reading was not in sync with the story.

Did Stormswept inspire you to do anything?

No

A "page turner"

I think Sabrina Jeffries is a great storyteller. The story kept me interested. It had a good pace to it and is quite original. It didn't feel like something I'd read before. I also liked that it had two love stories in one, the main characters (Rhys and Juliana) and their friends. The narrator, Cameron Rose, was okay but not great. Sometimes it was difficult to tell the characters apart because she seems to have only one male voice and one female voice. And when she did differentiate male voices, one was unusually high-pitched. But, not everyone can be Rosalyn Landor. LOL!

Swept Away

Great story! It reminded me a bit in premise of Twice-Loved by LaVyrle Spencer, but better. This is an enchanting tale filled with love, heartbreak, forced separation, second chances, forgiveness, and eventually trust. Carmen Rose was a perfect fit for the narration - I adored her Welsh accent and all the poetry recitings.

anticlimactic

I would have liked this so much more if it had just a little bit of angst. there wasn't much going on aside from couples quarrels.

Stormswept

I want to love this story... I really do... But I just couldn't finish..
The story may be good but that couldn't handle it any longer...

The narrative affected me too much. I've enjoyed Carmen Rose books before but this time I couldn't. Her Welsh accent sounds more like Indian. There's nothing with Indian ascent but if you trying to sell me, Welsh, Then that's something I'm trying to vision..

Narrator is distractingly RIDICULOUS

I am 100% sure this is a fantastic book - it has a good premise and I love this author. I'll pick up a copy for my kindle or at the bookstore.
But. This. Narrator. For some reason she decided Welsh = Jamaican. It's bad you guys. And I'd have overlooked it but no it's a major component of half the characters. Save yourself the trouble and get the book. For heaven's sake.
