Publisher's Summary

Julianne Baker seemingly has it all. Working for a nationally published nature magazine in Manhattan and leading a glamorous life in the Big Apple...or is she? Julianne returns to her hometown of Lilac Glen, Georgia to complete an article on family-based nurseries and floral businesses; something she already knows plenty about.
Julianne meets Tucker Case, a handsome investor and real estate manager who is trying to fit in as a farm owner in the town he now calls home. As days get longer, and spring starts to reawaken, will flowers be all that bloom?
Join Julianne as she opens her heart to new possibilities while learning to take life a little slower down back roads; bending with the curves instead of against them.

Sweet and short Love Story!

I love the cover! This was my first Angie Ellington's book. I like this sweet short love story. I love the two main characters, Julianne and Tucker. Julianne is a talented photo-journalist for a nature magazine in New York City. Tucker is an investor and real estate manager who learn to be a farmer after he had inherited properties and the farm from his uncle. They meet together when Julianne return to her hometown, at Lilac Glen. I like how they learn to know each other, how the love between them seems already there and grown rapidly. This story is well written and fast pace. I was hooked from the beginning till the end. Unfortunately, the narration was too fast for me, so I wasn't able to listen without reading at the same time, but the narrator has a great voice. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Warmed my heart

Would you listen to Spring in Lilac Glen again? Why?

Yes. It's a feel good romance without the need to go into the bedroom to be romantic.

Who was your favorite character and why?

loved them all. I related to Julianne's mom, to be honest, and found her to be a kindred spirit.

What does Essie Heart bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

a sweet mix of range in voices and styles. endearing...

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I don't want to give away spoilers...so I'll just say...there were a few spots that were funny and parts that were heartwarming.

Any additional comments?

easy listening...short but sweet. I don't have time for 10 hr listens. I start them & never finish. I love novellas and this author is now a fave

A pleasurable, easy listening romance.

Essie Heart’s narration of Spring in Lilac Glen kept me entertained during my daily commute. Her voice was lovely to listen to and her male voices sounded quite natural.

This was a short book to listen to but the I felt the story was quite complete. Julianne Baker is a nature photographer and I enjoyed listening to the descriptions of her excursions in the wild – and not so wild – to obtain the perfect photos.

I enjoyed Julianne’s trip home and her observations of her home town as well as the people there. She is definitely fond of the place and people but she is savvy enough to not romanticise small town living either. It’s not all about rocking on a chair and admiring a view while sipping tea.

Tucker Case is the hero in this book and while I wish we got to know more about him, what we did find out was sufficient for the story.

I also appreciated that while these two were attracted to each other, there was a natural progressions in their relationship. For the sake of brevity some authors rely on insta-love and that is not the case here.

The Moonlit Hearts Romance series is a great choice when you’re in need of an uplifting romance.

Sweet romance with a strong female lead

I love Angie’s lighthearted romances that aren’t bogged down by angry people barely missing each other with their stubborn ways. What she delivers in Spring In Lilac Glen is a sweet, natural growing of a relationship troubled only by the problem of distance; Julianne lives in the city and is in Lilac Glen for work. She must return to her Manhattan-based job at the end of the week. Tucker just left the city and is ready to trade in his tie for a pair of cowboy boots. I was given a review copy of the audio version of the story and felt the narrator did a good job. I recommend this book to people who like lighthearted romance.
