Publisher's summary

Drafted first round pick when I was seventeen, playing first line at eighteen, branded NHL's bad boy at nineteen. At twenty-three I was cut from the team and living back home with my parents. A knock on the door brought an opportunity I couldn't turn down. All I had to do was prove I learned from my mistakes, so no way would I fall for a chick with a pouty mouth even if I wanted to spend all day devouring it.

When my father gave me a job, I had no idea it would be to babysit some washed up NHL player. He wanted me to be his chaperone, his overpaid babysitter. I thought it was a joke. Then I met him, Matthew Grant. I wasn't prepared for this particular bad boy. He's not only hot but he's arrogant and kinda sweet in a 'you make me crazy' kind of way. Basically now that he's finished screwing up his life, he's decided to turn mine upside down.

Loved the narrators, characters, & storyline!

5 Crazy Ass Must Read Stars!!!!

Ahhh...so happy I stumbled across this book. After reading Tempt the Boss, I was curious about Matthew and Karrie. The way he was overbearing at the club caught my attention. So happy that they had a story.
I loved it. I was hooked right from the prologue. What I've come to learn as Natasha's humor is laced throughout the book. She even throws in those sexy times. Speaking of sexy times, whew, Matthew's mouth sure had me fanning myself.
Melissa Moran and Joe Hempel did an excellent job narrating. The accents and tone changes for different characters were spot on and brought the book to life for me. Job well done!
I look forward to venturing into more of Natasha's works.

Sexy Instalove Sports Romance

Overall: 3.5 stars
Performance: 4 stars
Story: 3 stars

Something So Perfect is a sexy instalove sports romance. Overall, it's a lighter listen/read, even though the book starts off with a bit of a bombshell. This is book 2 in the Something So series, but it can be read as a standalone.

I had a love/hate relationship with Matthew. He was caring and concerned, but often took things to caveman extremes. The instalove between him and Karrie didn't bother me, but the constant possessive and controlling behavior did. Also troubling was Karrie's reaction to the behavior. She would talk a big game about being independent and in charge of her own life, but then almost always would yield to Matthew's desires and wishes. Yes, it created some very comical situations (ie: the senior chair lift - LOL!), but for the most part, it was just too much. I also felt like the bomb thrown in the prologue could have been addressed more fully. There didn't seem to be a true resolution besides removing it from the hero/heroine's lives. I did think that the epilogue was perfect though and showed a softer side to Matthew and it left me with a smile on my face.

Melissa Moran and Joe Hempel did a great job narrating and I enjoyed both their performances. They were able to be both sexy and hilarious and really brought Matthew and Karrie to life. This is my first Natasha Madison book, but after finishing this one, I'm intrigued enough about Cooper and Parker (Matthew's parents) to want to know how the story began in Something So Right. Overall, this was an enjoyable low angst and steamy sports romance.

Okay story

I like the romance well enough, but not worth a credit or full price, good only if you get it discounted. I had a little trouble with the two of them as example of a cute couple. Their meet cute is fine. As they begin their relationship, it seems like Matthew just annoys her, and she finds it endearing. It was okay for a while then it just got annoying. Is it too much to ask that there is a little romance thrown in? The supporting characters where written well and I quite enjoy the father son relationship Cooper and Matthew have. The intimate scenes were hot, nicely written. However I don't like that Matthew's character of being controlling is written as being overprotected and concerned for Carrie. i.e. when he ties her to the bed as one example. Which leads me to the prologue. The prologue was intriguing, but then as the story moved on I found it troubling.

SPOILERS: I found it deeply upsetting with how the prologue was concluded at the end of the story. A woman was raped and beaten, yet was called a bitch for miss identifying Matthew as her attacker. It was confirmed by Matthew's lawyer that she was in fact beaten but there is no conclusion on what happened to the woman, except to be called a bitch. The way that whole plot was written was unnecessary and disappointed that there was no justice or conclusion to the victim. It could have easily been written if Max had done it.

Because of the ending I had to write a review. I'll give this author another chance, because I like reading the gamut of romance novels. But I wish this author would have made a better choice in plot point and the main relationship.

Sexy and emotional!

It took a hot minute to get used to Matthew Grant as a leading man after reading about him being a punk teenager in Something so Right, but once I got over myself I ended up loving this book! Matthew and Karrie were fun and sexy! Seeing Karrie give alpha Matthew a run for his money was hilarious!
Melissa Moran and Joe Hempel were great as Karrie and Matthew! Melissa showing all the exasperation at Matthew’s over the top behavior, and Joe as the clueless Matthew was hilarious!

Sweet & Sexy

Natasha Madison has something so perfect with this book! I have to say, this story is such an easy, addictive listen, I couldn't stop! Karrie, the coach's daughter gets the wonderful job of babysitting the new player to the hockey team, none other than Matthew Grant. Good looking, talented, manwhore that he is, her job is to keep him on the straight and narrow. Matt has done some growing up, and when he comes to this team, it's strictly business...until he sees Karrie. I have to say, these two characters are so easy to fall in love with. Matt is that super, overprotective, alpha personality and he knows what he wants. Karrie is trying to hold out and l love the way she pushes and pulls her feelings through this story. With the supporting cast of Vivienne, Cooper, Allison and even rival Max, the story has many characters written so well, you feel you know them and only want to know more. Madison has a knack for engaging your emotions and keep you listening to find out if Matt will really stay on the right path and Karrie can see past his reputation. Loved this story.

Narrated by the talented team of Melissa Moran and Joe Hempel, it was so perfect! These two always give a wonderful performance with their easy pace and talented voices.

A bit Boring

Too much descriptions of what the protagonists were wearing. We could think that we are listening to Devil wears Prada. It was a bit boring. It seems to me that this book was written by a junior writer. Good job from the narrators.
