Publisher's Summary

One mission. One night. One costly misstep…. Don't miss this scintillating romance from Doranna Durgin!
A mighty Kodiak shifter, Ruger is more than a Sentinel warrior. As a Healer, he willingly risks everything defending the sick and helpless. But after an ambush nearly kills him, he can do only so much - until a sensual lady black bear shifter arrives to provide him backup….
In human form, she is called Mariska. Feisty and self-assured, she has finagled her present assignment helping Ruger chase down a rising new threat. The moment Mariska scents the heroic, battle-scarred grizzly she knows he will be her only weakness…and greatest desire.
Mariska will do anything to aid Ruger - even if confronting the enemy puts everything she holds dear in jeopardy.

Just okay

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Not for the price.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

After a bit, hearing "Hell Yeah" or a variation of it over and over makes my eye twitch and teeth grind. I have issues with the weak or adolescent protagonist who just needs to mature to realize their own significance. The story becomes sucked into their own internal whiny neurosis.

What about Dina Pearlman’s performance did you like?

Did fine.

Could you see Sentinels being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No, well maybe on some version of CW teen vampire- blah, blah, blah.

Any additional comments?

As I've stated, I avoid a certain type of character. If you like the early Rachel Morgan from the Hollows series then this is fine for you. Like Kim Harrison's main character, this one loses the cool kick butt persona for habitual "oops I guess that was highly stupid and insensitive to others. Sowwy."
