Beautiful romance, beautifully presented

Kudos to Olivia Myers for writing quite a fantastic short story. There is a wealth of emotion, a strength of character, a certain poignancy, a vibrant sexual tension, and a depth of history that is quite tangible in this story, despite its short length. The plot isn't unique but Kaiya Cyr's narration adds the perfect texture to the story and carries you through to a wonderful HEA. Not always achievable with a less than two hour story and, as such, quite incredible and enjoyable.

Loved it!

Perfect length for my walk, this second chance romance was sweet and hot. Melissa and Brad had a month of teenage romance, resulting in a pregnancy. Melissa decides not to tell Brad, sacrificing her own dreams so that Brad can achieve his. Fast forward 4 years and now Melissa's best friend(who is Brad's sister) is getting married and now the two are pushed back together. This reunion was fun. Full of angst, hot sex and misunderstanding, I loved the path to the two of them go down to be together. Melissa is a martyr, but I love Brad's sensitivity. It is not every day a football star cries!

Kaiya Cyr was the narrator and the first time I heard her. Her voice was warm and fit th new adult genre well.

Short but Sweet Romance

This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of Audiobook Blast.

This was a very short, sweet (with a little spice) read. Brad is Melissa’s best friend’s brother and Melissa was always attracted to him. He was the star football player in high school and college and would eventually move on into the NFL. When Melissa and Tess graduated from high school Tess threw a big party and Melissa and Brad ended up spending the night together and starting a relationship that they both wanted to continue, even if it had to be long distance for a while.

Melissa ended up pregnant and thinking it would ruin Brad’s chances for a career in the NFL she broke things off with him, never telling him he was about to become a father.

Three years later, Brad’s sister, Tess is getting married in their hometown and has asked Melissa and Brad to take part in the wedding. Brad is excited to see Melissa again and hopes they can rekindle their relationship. Melissa is afraid to face Brad and makes up an elaborate story to explain her now three-year-old daughter.

Of course, the truth eventually comes out after another night of passion between Melissa and Brad. How will Brad take the news? Will he be able to forgive Melissa for her lies?

The story is fast paced and flows very well. I was not particularly thrilled with the narration. It seemed very dry and unemotional to me, although the distinction between characters was well marked. I did enjoy the story and will look for other work by this author.

A cute, short, and sweet story

A cute, short, and sweet story about reuniting with a high school sweetheart. I didn't really like that Melissa's first instinct was to lie to Brad, but there are worse things. If you want something quick and lighthearted, this is a great story to pick up.

Kaiya Cyr did a great job narrating. Her Brad voice is a bit hard to take seriously at first, but as the story progresses it get much easier and you forget the strangeness.

Thank god for the babysitter, Tess. She was a lifesaver. Too bad we don't all have a friend like that!
