Publisher's Summary

As if he doesn't have enough to handle between running outlaws out of Cheyenne, keeping his brothers out of trouble, and avenging his father's death, Sheriff Sawyer McCade's meddling mother just dumped a mysterious mail-order bride on his doorstep. One woman can be more trouble than a band of renegades, and while this one has him all stirred up, he'd rather get to the bottom of the story she isn't telling.
Rose Parker had it all - until a web of danger and deceit sends her running to Cheyenne posing as a mail-order bride. Escaping the evils of New York seems sensible until she meets the unsuspecting sheriff who didn't ask for her, has no intention of marrying her, and won't rest until he uncovers her secret and sends her back home.

More a Western than a romance

Kim Turner's book introduces the McCades, beginning with Cheyenne's sheriff Sawyer McCade. The novel's plot starts with an unexpected mail order bride. But that is merely one conflict. The book is full of outlaws, renegades, a type of range war, and difficult family relationships. It's plot rolls along almost like the slow and constant roll of a horse under a rider as nothing is rushed, especially the romance in the book. I would have liked the relationshp between the hero and heroine to have developed more quickly, and yet the pace reflected the hero's personality very well and so was true to the character development. Still there is plenty of action and suspense to keep a reader involved in the story. The narrator has a deep, smoky voice which I found difficult to listen to at first. He is a talented and dramatic reader, though, so it didn't take me long to settle into enjoying this audible book. If you enjoy a good Western, then I definitely recommend the book.

Love the book and loved the audio version!

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed reading Sawyer's Rose and listening to it on audible. Kim Turner weaves a beautiful story with the perfect mixture of stories of the old West and Romance. Dawson McBride brings the story to life in the audible version with his engaging voice.
