Publisher's summary

In the fevered mind of Samuel Lambent, a storm brews. At its dark heart is a need unlike any other, the kind that ravishes the soul and lays waste to both kindness and sanity. And that storm is mirrored in the skies over Chicago. The Culmination is approaching, for Samuel Lambent is actually Samael, the Fallen One. He's been dreaming of her, craving her, sidelined by an intense obsession that has all but consumed him. And now that he has actually seen Angel, the long-lost fifth and final archess, he will stop short of absolutely nothing to obtain her, going so far as to break fundamental covenants and make the ultimate sacrifice.

I honestly wondered if I would ever see the end of this series

I've been waiting for the last book of this series to come out for a while now. Samael seemed to be the most interesting and elusive character in the whole series. I was forever wondering who he really was, why was he so powerful, why wasn't he fallen and was he really a bad guy, and who was the skittish female. Samael's elusiveness was the main reason I wanted to continue the series.

The negative:
Unfortunately the story was so drawn out with long explanations of what the characters were thinking that I found myself fast forwarding a bit to get threw them.

The positives:
The storyline was interesting, the characters likable, and the narrator good. The most interesting part of the story to me was the big revelation that answered all the questions I've been having throughout this entire series. Walden's revelations on the backstory of some of the secondary characters were a surprise too. For me this book really brought the whole series into perspective. I'm still remembering past books and thinking wow, so that's why they could do that or that's why they acted that way.

For me this was a satisfying wrap up to a pretty decent series.

Sorely Disappointed

Any additional comments?

of all of the Miss Ashley stories in this series, this was my least favorite, though it was my most anticipated story it just left me feeling unfulfilled , The storyline didn't quite go in the same lines as the other Follen angels even though I knew this would be different because of the person Samael why is it just left me flat . The narration was awesome as always

Samuel + 1

I don't feel that I can write the words this book deseves . Yet I can tell you what it gave me in a very hard time in my life. With prose that carries you in and along you know in your heart yearning, loneliness, angry, hate, and weariness. Hopelessness. But there scattered like the stars are the best of all creatures in all worlds - courage, determination, fellowship, the ability to believe in what is unseen, sacrifice and redemption. And most importantly love is expressed beautifully. It touched me deeply. Thank you Heather Killough-Walden. And to Gildart Jackson for wonderfully bringing life to the story - loving the words 😇

Please stop narrating!

The narrator constantly pronounced American words with a British ill fitting accent with the characters. Thought if I heard 'anathin' instead of ANYTHING once more, I'd scream. Never heard a story where every character had a lisp. Please study other narrators before attempting again, or just stop altogether.

Samael will blow your mind!

Listen or read the whole series before this one. This story will make you run thru all your emotions. Romance for the soul. Awesome story line and twists to the characters. What is a silver tongue rogue to do, when the love of your life will not even pause to listen to you? End of the world sex? Loved the ending and you must listen to all the epilogues.

a satisfying ending to an innovative series.

I gave it 5 stars. That about says it all. Except for one thing...I was about ready to shake Angel into stopping her from repeating the open mouthed "oh my "moments.I wanted more from this character.Thank the stars she did at last have more to say conversationally. I guess some are just better at talking to themselves. (you would get that comment if you read the book). The other thought that came to mind was above my pay grade in where I would ever want to go in Sam's and Angel's relationship. I did not know if I should laugh out loud, gasp in incredulity, or say ," okay, that was different as relationships go." spoiler....Happy ending for the white hats and the black ones too. It's not just the good hero that walks away with the girl. I Surely do appreciate this Author's imagination....Wait there were some bad guys that bit the dust. It was a trifecta.!!!
