Publisher's summary

When post-grad Rachael Hamilton accidentally gate-crashes a pro-athlete party, she ends up face-to-face with Ryan Carter, the NFL's most beloved quarterback.

While most girls would be thrilled to meet the attractive young millionaire, Rachael would rather spend time with books than at sporting events, and she has more important things to worry about than romance—like her parents pressuring her to leave her unpaid publishing internship for law school. But when Ryan's rookie teammate attaches himself to Rachael, she ends up cohosting Friday-night dinners for half a dozen football players.

Over pancake brunches, charity galas, and Alexander the Great, Rachael realizes all the judgments she'd made about Ryan are wrong. But how can a Midwestern Irish-Catholic jock with commitment problems and an artsy, gun-shy Jewish New Englander ever forge a partnership? Rachael must let down her barriers if she wants real love—even if that opens her up to pain that could send her back into her emotional shell forever.

SUMMARY FOR BOOK INCORRECT

This is a story about Rachel and Ryan. Rachel is a nerd who happens to go to the wrong party by accident. This party happens to be filled with professional football players. She meets Ryan and sparks begin to fly. They rub each other the wrong way from the beginning. Ryan just can’t believe Rachel isn’t falling all over him.

This is such a cute story. It reminds me of a Molly Harper type story. This is not a sexually explicit book. It is a great, feel good, light hearted listen that I had to listen to in one sitting.

Book had potential.....

I had a hard time with this narrator for some reason. The book was good but I felt like it had so much more potential. Regardless, still was worth the credit.

Wonderful book, story was great, download now!

This story was really good, it was one of those where you hoped the male and female lead will just get on the same page already, which made it wonderful! It had the same vibe as beautiful disaster and it made me want to block out the world so I could just listen to where this story was going...and it was done in a PG-13 way. So, there wasn't any real graphic content but the tension that built didn't need it!

I can't say enough good things about this story...BUT narrator was bad. It wasn't all her fault. She could not do many voices, and the person in charge of editing really should have helped her out with some voice modification or something, plus often the story had switched to another place or conversation and due to a lack of pause I got confused....once again some better editing would have helped, but due to story content I was able to get over it.

This book could really be a big hit with some narrator changes.
Love, love,love this wonderful book!!!!!

This could be the best book ever, but the narrator

is lacking. I am returning after listening to the first hour. She is SUPER perky and chipper, it is very annoying. She doesn't distinguish b/w male and female voices, well, and pauses and stumbles over words.

Good story but almost ruined by the narration

I liked the story, and it's a good thing since it was the only reason I kept going to finish the book. I honestly considered returning this audiobook after finishing the first chapter because the narration was just THAT BAD. Then I considered buying the kindle version and just finishing it that way, but since I bought this for a car ride, I trudged along through the audiobook.

I had read reviews before I bought this, and I saw some people had said that the narration was poor, but I thought, they're just being picky... I was wrong. When the narrator pronounced the name Wickham as Wick-ham (from Austen's P&P) for the third time, I literally wanted to throw my ipod. I also had trouble distinguising between her voices for different characters on many different occasions, making the book and dialogue confusing. And in the end, all I could think was that people just don't talk that this, even if they're perennially happy people!! I would read this author again in the future because I really liked the story and characters, but I will avoid this narrator at all costs.

Cute story.....annoying narration!

Cute story line, but the narration almost ruined the story. Way too breathy and perky with almost "Valley Girl" intonations. Never a good sound for male characters. I also agreed with one the the pervious reviewers about the timing of the narration. There were awkward and misplaced pause that made the story line confusing. Yet in other parts conversations were rushed with very little variation in the characters voices. With a different narrator I would have given this a solid 4 stars.

My Breath Caught, I laughed, I was frustrated...

Would you listen to Rush Me again? Why?

What was one of the most memorable moments of Rush Me?

When Ryan and Rachel had mad sex during the particular point they were at a crossroads, my heart was literally yanked from my chest. Rachel was stronger than I could have been afterward.

Which scene was your favorite?

My fav was most def when Ryan was confused and she said yes at the gala. It was one of those moments you realize you've been holding your breath for a million pages and can finally find some relief and smile.
And when he told her to "quiet down crazy beautiful."

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I finished the book in about a day and a half of off and on listening.

Any additional comments?

The narrator really needs props here. I've not looked up her profile or page but she sounds so much like a NYC transplant with a happy Jewish mom and dad that I could envision Rachel as she spoke. And RYAN!!! NO ONE could have given the quick "yeah's" and other one word answers from Ryan any better than she did. They were curt and semi-arrogant and sometimes nervous. The narrator rocked the dad and mom as well. In the end in the locker room when the players are protecting she completely nailed their parts also. Some may be less than enthused by the narration with a smile on her face because you can hear it in her voice but Rachel was HAPPY! She was suppose to sound happy and nothing sounds happier than someone speaking with an all out beaming smile mixed into their words.
The book was great. I was enthrall led enough to need to know what was next at any given moment. I'm hoping for more like this!

Good story

Any additional comments?

I liked this story. It was interesting and kept my attention. I loved how the two main characters met, didn't really like each other but end up falling for each other. It's not in my top 10 list but it was good.

Super cute romance

Any additional comments?

The chance encounters seem very serendipitous but otherwise it's a romance where the progression makes sense. They're immensely attracted to one another but are immediate adversaries following their initial encounter. This is not a cinderella story where the rich guy lavishes gifts upon her (although their dates aren't cheap) and there aren't a whole lot of sex scenes other than two turning point scenes.

The narrator did a great job and made the character sound both grounded and fun.

Fun and unpredicable

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

The inter-fun between Rachel and all the other Football players, and with Ryan

Any additional comments?

This was a very fun book to listen to it was worth the money or credit.
