A BRILLIANT JOURNEY OF DUTY vs LOVE
If you've read or listened to any of S.E.'s books before then you know what you're going to get - a passion filled story mixed with great characters, torturous emotion filled encounters and some 'hot' spots all read by the very talented Ms Flosnik.
It's hard to pick a favorite book from her but this could be it because you can really empathise with both main characters dilemmas as they struggle with their building emotions for each other and the devastating results that will ensue.
(Spoiler Alert!!)
However, just a short grievance, and I'm no author, but it needed another final chapter or an epilogue as the ending was so abrupt it left me speechless (well alright not quite) but there was no wedding, no honeymoon or reuniting with the servants back at his home, no baby to complete the final terms of his Father's will ...... and the scenes running through my head - just a proposal and then that's it.
Worth a credit? Historical romance at it's best, despite the abrupt ending, so that would be a YES. This could be a stand alone book but why miss out on a great series.

An ABRUPT Ending!
I really enjoyed this book; however, I felt that the book ended too abruptly. I didn't feel like there was a lot of closer. The Duke says will you marry me, she says yes and THE END.
I would have liked the ending better if the Duke would have arrived with a special license, made the stuffy, pretentious young Vicar marry them and then had him shipped off to India and his mother shipped off to a convent. If the ending wouldn't have been so abrupt I would have given the story 5 stars as I really loved the story.
I also thought that Greaves should have told her who paid for her education so that Sophia would learn that there was someone totally unexpected looking out for her well being. (Tried not to give any spoilers!)
I loved Sophia and the fact that regardless of what life threw at her she still had spunk. The Duke of Greaves learned to appreciate and respect Sophia's outlook on life. I thought this book was definitely the best in the series so far; however, the ending was rather abrupt.
Anne Flosnik isn't one of my favorite narrators as I feel like she's always got a mouth full of spit, but she always delivers a dependable performance. I will not turn away from books narrated by Ms. Flosnik; however, I also not intentionally search for them either.
I would definitely recommend this book because there are interesting characters and Sophia is just a delight. I will listen to this book over and over again.
