Book four in the Bad Behavior series

Detective Andreas Ruffner is no fool - he’s found a man who loves him, puts up with him, and has stuck with him through hell and back, and it’s time to put a ring on it. Darren Corliss is the love of his life, and he wants the whole world to know it.

Now the fun part - the wedding!

Well, after the not-so-fun part of planning the wedding in between dealing with overbearing and impossible-to-please family members. With future mothers-in-law driving them both up a wall, the guest list growing out of control, and the wedding getting ever more complicated, Darren and Andreas have to wonder if they’re in over their heads.

But they’re going to make it to the altar if it kills them...and at this rate, it just might.

enjoyed it

📖 Story comment: good pace, well developed characters, A nice way to round out the story and give the guys their Happy Ever After.
Not quite the ending to the series, but "some-what" of an ending for our heroes, if they can survive the wedding ... they can survive anything!

🎧 Narrator comment: Michael Ferraiuolo is a master story teller. He suits the characters, has a plethora of accents, wonerful pacing, good cadence, inflections and intonations and pulls all the emotions out of the story. His performance brings life to every scene and i've thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Happily Ever After

Andreas Ruffner and Darren Corliss are finally getting their happily ever after. Romantic Behavior picks up a few weeks after the vacation they left on in Reckless Behavior. If you ask me it can't really be read as a standalone, I don't think you'd enjoy it much if you did. And missing out on three awesome books might just be a crime.

Anyway Andreas and Darren are back home back at work and *gasp* back out at a restaurant, though sans kids to be kidnapped. To everyone's relief. This evening though grants us a proposal. And it was sweet, it was even funny. Also it was so them. Then comes the hard part - the wedding planning. In laws. Everyone having opinions - about everything. What was supposed to be, in their minds, a smallish gathering of friends and family, maybe a few co-workers has turned into a nightmare that never seems to end.

I'm of two minds about this book. On the one hand I loved seeing that Andreas and Darren finally got their happy, they finally had time to be happy, be a couple and really focus on themselves for once. There was no case to solve, no one to rescue - part from themselves. On the other hand, all the wedding planning got to be a bit much for me too, and I'll admit to finding myself spacing out a few times while listening. It just didn't hold my interest as much as the previous books did. It lacked something, there wasn't that spark or quite the same depth and feeling that I'm used to getting from this series.

Michael Ferraiuolo did a great job narrating this book, and my spacing in places is no way a reflection of his performance. It's just that the magic, the action that was present in abundance in the first three books wasn't really there and not even Ferraiuolo's wonderful effort could create it or suck me in as deep. That being said, I still loved being there for the proposal, the wedding and in general seeing them being happy.

I don't know if this was the last in the series, but if so, it's been a great ride and I have loved every single minute I've spent listening to these books. Andreas and Darren do deserve their happily ever after and this book gave them that in a nice way.

SWOON

Romantic Behavior follows our men through recovery from the excitement in the last book and spoiler alert for the rest of the books, so if you haven't read the series, stop and don't read this review, unless you like spoilers.
The guys are planning their wedding and boy is this book swoon-worthy. Of course, Michael Ferraiuolo made it even more so with his dreamy voice and the way he gives each character life.

A fitting end to a wonderful series

The angst of wedding planning! Unlike the first three books in this series, which were pretty gritty and intense, this one was sweet, lighthearted and downright hilarious at times. I could definitely feel for Darren as I remembered planning my own wedding and was thanking God that I didn't have a mother or mother in law like Louise! Michael Ferraiuolo once again made the characters come to life with his wonderful narration! If I could give this entire series more than 5 stars for both the writing and narration, I would!

Lovely story for a great series!

This is not my favorite series but it is worth the price of admission:-) If there is a fifth book, I would definitely buy it. A good series to hunker down with when you want to listen for hours on end!

Weddings are stressful

This is a short story of wedding planning and family. There is no mystery, it all revolves around our guys trying to it to the alter without doing bodily harm to others. It's a good read and I hope they continue the series.

Love this series!

Huge fan of this series. Loved the journey of Andreas and Darren from the moment they met and hated each other, to walking down the aisle. This last book is my favorite since they got their happily ever after. I’ve listened to this audio over and over. Michael does a great job narrating this series. Definitely swoon worthy.

a nice, non-stabby send off

4.5⭐️
Audio: 4.5⭐️

While I usually don't care about "wrap-up/wedding" novellas in a series, I really enjoyed “Romantic Behavior”, which is a great send-off for the boys. After life finally settles down to the normal day to day chaos of being detectives, Andreas pops the question and, despite what both Darren and Andreas want, the two are soon immersed in the chaos of planning a large wedding.

Besides being confronted with scores of wedding binders and having to make choices neither could care less about, Darren is introduced to Andreas’s parents, Joe and Louise. While Joe seems nice enough (although you don’t get to hear from him much), his other half is truly a piece of work. She’s insufferably rude, impossible to please and unapologetically mean to everyone, including her own family, and has NO qualms being a complete tw@t to Darren when they meet before the engagement party. Now between them being stressed from work and planning the wedding, Darren is now stressed over trying to please his future mother-in-law, while Andreas is disheartened and ashamed of her behavior.

However, in true Darren fashion, there is only so many smiles until you cross the line and when Louise starts taking shots at his mother, Jessica, the gloves come off. In the end, it all works out for the best as the guys give up on the big wedding and head to Vegas with some of their loved ones. I for one am glad that Darren and Andreas avoid a big to-do because 1) it just didn’t seem to suit them and 2) I can’t image they would make it through the wedding without some form of calamity or chaos. Quick and easy in a small chapel with heart felt words and surrounded by close family seems the best fit for the boys.
