Publisher's Summary

Everyone knows that Colin Bridgerton is the most charming man in London. Penelope Featherington has secretly adored her best friend's brother for...well, it feels like forever. After half a lifetime of watching Colin Bridgerton from afar, she thinks she knows everything about him, until she stumbles across his deepest secret...and fears she doesn't know him at all.
Colin Bridgerton is tired of being thought nothing but an empty-headed charmer, tired of everyone's preoccupation with the notorious gossip columnist Lady Whistledown, who can't seem to publish an edition without mentioning him in the first paragraph. But when Colin returns to London from a trip abroad he discovers nothing in his life is quite the same - especially Penelope Featherington! The girl haunting his dreams. But when he discovers that Penelope has secrets of her own, this elusive bachelor must she his biggest threat - or his promise of a happy ending?

Great addition to the Bridgerton series

This was a great addition to the series, Thank goodness audible added after all this time. This was a the story of Colin Bridgeton finding love. It also has an interesting twist about finding out who Miss Whistledown is. Well worth the credit, I couldn't go on to the next book in this series until I listened to this one.

Not much of a secret

I feel the description given for the story gives it away and the "secret" Colin has is not a secret at all. Silly really to make it sound that way. It was ok overall, however the excitement built at the end and how it was resolved was even more silly. So someone said she found out about the heroine's secret because of the way she said a sentence which is identical to that mentioned by someone else and therefore the two are one and the same.... So in my mind, I thought why not just say this is ludicrous and be done with it? leave it for her to prove, but nooooo. This was considered and she was to get blackmailed based on this claim. Now you tell me if this is not stupid reasoning. I feel it took something away from the book to once again make an issue appear more than it is just as Julia Quinn did with Colin's "secret".
