Publisher's Summary

Indy Savage is a former wild child (okay, maybe not so "former") and current used-bookstore owner. Lee Nightingale is a former bad boy and now runs a private investigation service. Toss together a quiet barista with a not-so-lawful side-business, a crazy Vietnam Vet, a pothead, a drag queen, family and friends who will not mind their own business, a few stun guns, and a bag of diamonds, and mix them all up with some shootings, a high-speed chase and car bombs exploding, then hang on for your first wild Rock Chick ride.

I absolutely ADORED this book!

All I have to say is this book is full of the typical KA fun - there are kidnappings, car chases, steamy bedroom scenes, swoony moments, outright hilarious moments, drag queen performances, shoot-outs, explosions, a seriously epic food-fight, a kickass heroine, and one SEXY AS HELL alpha male, and of course, a wonderful love story. I loved every character in this book... Indy, Lee, Ally, Tex, Todd, Duke, the whole entire crew!! So many LOL moments. I'm definitely rating 5 stars because Rock Chick deserves nothing less!

Glad I read the Kindle version first

I listen to a LOT of audiobooks so I'm a little demanding when it comes to who reads them. If I listened to this story without knowing what a great author Kristen Ashley is, the person reading it would have killed all my interest in the series. And it's an awesome series worth reading and re-reading! Lee's an alphahole in the best sense of the word and you get very little of why that's good in this reading. There are several ways for females to narrate male parts....simply reading in a monotone is not a good one. So boring, with zero nuance! Also, the prissy way she reads Indy's parts (which obviously make up most of the story...and a Rock Chick is anything but prissy) is maddening. I swear she almost whispers when she has to say a bad word. It's not a Regency romance (which she should probably stick with). Yes, as another reviewer noted Indy's a bit immature and gets others into trouble, but the WAY it's read is what makes that so annoying that it sort of takes you out of the story. I hate to compare a Kristen Ashley story to Janet Evanovich's series, but at least she had a couple of narrators that worked hard on pacing and getting different/unique voices for the various characters so you didn't get jolted out of the story when a switch occurred. I think this almost would have been better if a man like Scott Brick had read it! Still love KA, but this was a tough haul.
