Publisher's summary

Race car mechanic Andressa "Andi" Amaro has one rule - no dating drivers. With a good reason behind the rule, she has no plans on breaking it.

Carrick Ryan is the bad boy of Formula One, with a face and body that melt panties on sight and an Irish lilt that leaves women on their knees, begging for more. He races hard and parties harder. The youngest driver to ever sign with F1, he's still at the top of his game five years later, breaking hearts on and off the tracks.

When Andi is offered her dream job working in the glamorous world of F1, she leaves her home in Brazil, positive she can handle working for Carrick. But she's not prepared for the off-the-chart sparks that fly the moment they meet. Now Andi has a crush on the one man she can't have, and her resolve is about to be put to the test, because Carrick has decided he wants Andi, and he plans on testing her to the very limit....

VT. FAN

What would have made Revved better?

A different narrator

What other book might you compare Revved to and why?

"Driven" by K. Bromberg..the intense sexual buildup, the angst of one of the couples to commit to the other..steamy sex well written..I loved both books.. The difference between the 2..DRIVEN had a great narrator and REVVED had a horrible one...The book version of REVVED is one of my favorites. The audible version ruined because of poor choice of narrator.

Would you be willing to try another one of Lulu Russell’s performances?

NO

What character would you cut from Revved?

NONE

Any additional comments?

Andressa was born in England raised in Brazil and you gave her a American accent..her Mother born and raised in BRAZIL you gave a English accent..the narrator could not do male voices well at ALL..the sex scenes sounded like the CHIPMUNKS were at it and you were going to hear "ALVIN" at any minute..Although this is one of my favorite books I was soooo disappointed in the audio version and would not recommend it...read the book that I would highly recommend. .

slow slow

chapter 7....still nothing interesting going on. Dialogue seem to lead to funny punch lines, but falls flat.

Awful lead characters specially the heroine

The story started great, but it went downhill fast!

We knew by the summary that the hero was a man-whore, but we didn’t know that the heroine was going to be absolutely exasperating!

She has this rule that she breaks, and that is when she goes from being interesting as a character, to being the main reason for me disliking the story.

And yes, the hero does stupid things that gave me the “icky-yucky” feels, but he tries to redeem himself afterwards. The heroine simply killed the whole thing for me after both main characters decided to put the past behind, but she goes back to her unending “I can-I can’t-I have to do this-I can’t do this-wash/rinse/repeat” interminable litany!

There’s only so many times a person can be put through the wringer, and the heroine went way above her quota with the hero for me.

This story could have been told in half the time and it wouldn’t have been as frustrating.

Not recommended. It could have been great but wasn’t.

Wow!

This was entertaining and steamy with indepth, flawed characters. I have to admit, it was a LITTLE too realistic on the flaws these characters had, because it made me not like them as much as I would have if their love was 'epic' instead of just 'real'.

Revved

This book is about car racing and the fear a woman has that keeps her unable to trust and love. I found myself not enjoying this book because I got exhausted listening to the repetitive emotions.

Why two different accents for one character?????

Please explain why the British narrator switches to an American accent when she is in dialogue with other characters but narrates in the story as the same character with a British accent??? This was so annoying and such a bad call that I couldn’t even listed to the rest of it!! So disappointing!!!
I love Towle’s stories too. What a bummer!

It's a great story line with lots of humor!!

It is a great story line and some laugh out loud moments! There are also some seriously frustrating parts that drag on about unreasonable fears that could of been solved in a much shorter time period. I'm hoping that the next book in this series is not as frustrating since it is shorter!! plus the next book has 2 narrators, it's better with a man and woman telling the story!!

like the book but it was a frustrating read

First of all the hero was a real man whore. Not only that but he got upset that he was called that. It was hard for me to listen to him being such a jerk with other women in front of the heroin. Then the heroin kept going back and forth to the point of extremes with deciding if she wanted to stay or leave him. The story could have been shorter. Having said that I loved the author's writing style and the way she writes if this book was not so frustrating I would have given it a 5... would definitely read her stories again!!

Unsatisfying

I enjoy the appropriate amount of angst and romance but this book was 99% angst, which made the book very repetitive and utterly frustrating. Of course the infuriating lead refused to see what’s right in front of her for the entire book. It’s just a collection of “well no, but yes, he doesn’t, but do I, no I can’t, but can we, we shouldn’t, no really, but does he, no, but maybe, what if.” Ugh. Kill me now
