Publisher's summary

Small town love isn't always quaint: A lesbian romance...with some twists.

Lucinda Hamilton settles down in sleepy Reverie, South Carolina, because she's running from the troubles of her past. But when her dangerous ex-husband evades law enforcement, she fears that no amount of running will ever make her safe again.

Two women are determined to keep Lucinda's past at bay - the mysterious young nurse living on the other side of Lucinda's duplex, who won't even tell Lucinda her name, and Ardie Brown, an ex-marine who's recently moved back to Reverie herself. It's hard for Lucinda to trust either one of them; it's even harder to admit to herself that she's falling for both of them.

What will happen when Lucinda's ex-husband finally catches up to her? Will the girl next door or Ardie have the power to stop him?

Or will Lucinda finally have to face her past all by herself?

Excellent!

I nearly listened to the whole book in one sitting, wanting to find out what happens at the end. Excellent writing, and the narration was absolute perfection. This was my second listen from this writer, and I'm probably starting with a third right away. The short story about the author's own life at the end was the cherry on top of a tasty sundae.

Very Different, but I couldn’t quit listening

I love thriller/suspense/mystery genres and I crave lesbian centric stories. This one covers that and then some. I don’t want to tread into spoiler territory so I will leave it at saying there are many twists and some interesting concepts that are outside of my realm, but really liked sinking into. Heart strings pulled! More like yanked. I really liked this book. And I felt that the narrator was perfect for this story.

A Great Listen

I’m a big fan of Eliza Andrews and this book was right up there as one of my favorites. It’s a great story line that’s a breath of fresh air in the lesbian romance genre. It’s different and the story and narrator keep you listening until the very end. Highly recommend.

Very different from her other books

This is the last of Eliza’s lesbian fiction books that I have read. This one took me a little bit to get into because it took my back to a time I didn’t think I wanted to go to. However, she has such a way of getting me pulled into her stories where I can’t stop because I’m constantly on edge wanting to know what happens next. I am glad I stuck with this one in the beginning, it was a true masterpiece. As always when I finish an Eliza book, I am impatiently awaiting the next! Go read this book if you are looking for a suspenseful thriller with a side of romanticism.

I'm a sucker for a southern drawl

I say it over and over a narrator makes or breaks a story, and this one was great. This book had some unexpected twists, that at first, I did not enjoy, but then once I figured out what was happening the twists made me like the characters even more. Very entertaining.

A Haunting Romance

Lucinda Hamilton was running from her soon to be ex-husband. Hiding in the South Carolina town of Reverie she tries to start her life over. Ardie Brown, a retired Marine mechanic, is drawn to her from the moment they meet. A great depiction of a Southern small town and the people who live there. Authentic performance given by Elizabeth Saydan. Will read mor of this author’s work. Recommend.

Beautiful, Complex & Soulful

Listen, this isn’t a normal run down the les-fic road. I am appreciative of the dimensions of life, love & spirit written within these pages. I am grateful to read writers who create worlds that are racially & intellectually diverse. This book has an electric twist within its revelations. You’ll be better by the listening. Enjoy.
