Very long

I don't even know what to say. Charlotte has to be the most ignorant naive girl ever. The story is about 2 hours too long. I guess I would recommend it. The story gets better about the half way mark.

Another spinster gets a man!

What made the experience of listening to Reckless: House of Rohan Series, Book 2 the most enjoyable?

The narrator...she is the best in this genre!

What did you like best about this story?

The characters...very interesting storyline, humorous and some nice sex scenes tossed in!

What about Susan Ericksen’s performance did you like?

All of it.....she is great, she can read a love scene.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There were many funny moments, a few tense minutes but mostly fun and happiness.

Love this book, love this series! 💜💜

I loved it! I really enjoyed the first book so much, that I was afraid that I wasn’t going to like this one. Initially I was reserved because Adrian was so removed from the first story. Adrian is Francis and Elinors only son, and heir. He has become party buddies with cousin Etienne who just wants to destroy the family line, and Adrian is only too happy to go along with the partying. He and his father are not close and it annoys his father so its an added bonus. Charlotte is basically a spinster who has no desire to ever marry. She is curious about sex though, so goes with her cousin to the Heavenly Host revels to observe. You can imagine how things might end up for her there. There is a secondary storyline, with Charlottes cousin Lena, a vicar and Heavenly Host Monty, (who you cant help but adore!) which was just as good as the main one. We don't really see mom Elinor or dad Francis until the end, and even then its barely a presence. Like the first book, it kind of ends fairly abruptly, but it wasn't so bad that it ruined the story.
I absolutely one million percent love Susan Ericksen. I didn't even realize this wasn't her real accent until I looked her up, wanting to know more about her, and saw an interview! I absolutely LOVE her narration. Her voice is so calm and soothing. A female Cary Grant almost.
I paid a full credit for this book, which I almost never do (preferring to wait for 2 for 1 sales which is how I got the first book in this series) but it was absolutely worth the credit, and I am definitely going to add the next book in the series to my queue.

Too much rambling

I liked the story overall but there are so many scenes where the rambling goes on and on to fill pages. Yes, well after reading Laura Kinsale and listening to narrations by Nicholas Boulton, it is hard to not compare when you have had better. Page fillers are irritating. I almost rather have a short book filled with substance than have to listen to the same lines and insecurities relayed through the main characters over and over. It is also hard to find S. Erickson’s narration any better than what I would have done as a novice. She did not add at all to the story.
I did enjoy her passionate love scenes and the intensity built in between the main characters.

Stereotypical ugly spinster vs devilish rake

This book is probably wonderful but I didn’t give it much chance, the description of heroine put me off reading it all together.
She is an old maid straight laced spinster, unattractive, six feet tall with ginger hair and freckled face. Adding to her unfortunate looks, she is poor relation and has no illusions and no expectations....seriously??
I know Anne Stuart has a penchant for underdog ugly older heroine but does she has to be soo extreme with it? Can poor girl be at least average looking? I know at the end she will eventually bag a handsome dissolute rake of a hero but honestly how realistic it that....well, unless, he has a particular liking for overly tall, unattractive ginger haired older women.....

i loved this book. It is so good i am definitely reading the next books. The ather is so good!

I liked the hero and the story

This was my first book by this author. I was pleasantly surprised by the narrator. I have heard her Nora books - not in love with that match. The book was good. The villian tiresome. The heroine had flashes of likeablity but I could not get a handle on whether I could root for her or not. I definitely cheered for the hero. The spicy dialogue was grand and the insults were superb. I liked the secondary couple very much and would have liked the book even more if they had more scenes. What a suprise at the end too. Caught me with my mouth hanging open. I recommend this book if a sympathetic well motivated heroine does not matter. There were times I really liked her but others when I could not have cared less. I should not harshly excoriate her character the hero more that makes up for any piddling complaints on my part. A devilish good time.

Different for sure!

If you are looking for a book that is different, a little "out there" this is your book. I enjoyed most of it. Some was just a little much for my taste. Intimate scenes are on the dark side I guess.

Porn with a twist?

Not a steamy romance. Just kinky porn setting struggling to find a story. Dissappointing.

Magic!

The "House of Rohan" series absolutely takes my breath away, leaves me with butterflies in my stomach, and consumes my time and thoughts.

The hero of this story, Adrian, is Francis and Elinor's son . Francis and Elinor's story can be found in the book Ruthless, and although Reckless can be read as a stand alone, Ruthless is a "don't miss" kind of book so be sure to read that one as well.

I love a good story where the tables turn and the seducer becomes the one who is seduced! What begins as lust turns into so much more as Adrian is brought to his knees by Charlotte. I loved the passion in this relationship! Anytime Charlotte and Adrian were in the same room, sparks flew. Whether fighting, conversing, ignoring, or succumbing.... this relationship is passionate.

The secondary romance is so touching and Adrian and Charlotte are so sizzling.

I also have to praise Susan Erickson for her wonderful narration. I love how she consistently and expertly narrates the "In Death" series by JD Robb (another "don't miss" series!), and she does an excellent job with the "House of Rohan" series as well. The combination is absolutely magical!
