Publisher's Summary

USA TODAY best seller
This isn't your cookie-cutter childhood best friend love story.
We were best friends since as early as I could remember. We grew up together. We were next door neighbors. We shared each other's deepest secrets. When I was 13, we made a pact: if we were still single by the time we were 30, we'd marry each other.
Today was my 30th birthday. I was single. I knew he was single, too.
But we were no longer best friends, and a part of me knew that he hated me.
This is book one of a three-book series. Books two and three (Promise to Keep and Promise of Forever) will be full-length novels.
This is a new adult contemporary romance recommended for ages 17+ due to mature language and adult situations.

Could find anything to like.

The blend of rough sex and then flipping to the perspective of a little girl didn't work for me. It made it almost impossible to find anything to like about Chloe. I completely stopped caring when she went off to college and becomes a hired prostitute to make ends meet. Found it to hard to believe that someone with the past we were told she had would turn to that. It just made her sound easy and willing to take the easy way out. The author lead us to believe Chloe was a fighter. It just made her weak.

I couldn't finish the book. I might have if I had like Jacksom more, but just didnt. His level of hate for Chloe would have made since if Chloe had been sleeping with Jacksom's father, but maybe that happened right after I stopped listening. Wish I had been given a reason to want to finish.

Wow! So disappointed.

I could not identify with the heroine at all. I was pretty much disgusted with the book. Especially the ending. Sorry I stuck with it till the end.
