Publisher's summary

Ex-Navy SEAL Samson Caine has lost everything he's ever fought for - and nothing can bring back his wife. But when he's offered a new mission protecting brilliant, sharp-tongued biochemist Angela McAllister from those who want to exploit the deadly knowledge she carries, he's got no choice but to accept. He couldn't save his first love, but maybe he can finally find redemption keeping the fiery scientist safe.

Samson knows he has a difficult road ahead of him, but he doesn't count on the asset he's charged with protecting being so intriguing. Falling in love isn't part of the plan. Especially when a rogue government official with nothing to lose plans to harness a lethal bioweapon and take revenge on the terrorists hiding out in Samson's South African village with Angela's help - and holds her brother as leverage.

Now, it's up to Samson to protect a town full of innocents, one of whom is the son he hopes to adopt, while keeping the woman he loves from harm. He'll have to fight powerful enemies, and his own demons, to save his world from catastrophe.

Terrible book and narration..

So, I read In Safe Hands, the first book in this series, and reviewed it 6/9/17 and gave it 2 stars. However, I did buy this book at the same time so I decided to get it out of the way since it was such a short story. I don’t know how many times I tempted to quit but I soldiered on.

I dislike not really knowing what the MC’s look like. Angela sounded a whole lot of frumpy to me. Her clothes sounded terrible BUT later she was described as pretty and one reviewer on Amazon called her beautiful. I have no idea. Samson, on the front of the cover looked like a muscular guy with a nice tan but the book referred to is skin as “chestnut” colored and he’s from South Africa so you’re kind of left up in the air. Their hair and eyes were not mentioned enough for me. Plus, one reviewer on Goodreads said that Angela was “OCD to the max.” Really? I didn’t get that at all.

I’m totally done with Ms. North. I mean this book was about a genius scientist who came up with a lethal bioweapon and it could have been good but there was just too much time spent with thoughts of sex and then pages upon pages of sex, a lot for only 127 page story.

There was very explicit sex and the F-bomb was used 20 times

As to the narration: Terrible, just terrible. He can’t do women’s voices and his men’s voices are even worse. I thought his voices in the first book were terrible but he may have been a little worse in this one.
