Publisher's summary

Marly's been doing the best with what life's dealt her. Losing her husband a decade ago and raising two kids on her own made her self-reliant and unapologetic. When she's pushed to the limit after losing her job, what's a girl to do? Audition for a spot on a DIY show, naturally.

Jack is a down-on-his-luck television producer trying to catch a break. When an offer comes along to get a fledgling DIY show up and running, he jumps on it. Little does he know that Marly is about to give him a run for his money as Handyman Dan's sidekick.

Return to Savannah and catch up with the characters of A Building Passion (DIY, Book 1) and get to know some new ones in Passion Project (DIY, Book 2). Note: This novel contains adult language and sexual content.

Loved This!

Passion Project is Book 2 in the DIY series and can be listened to as a standalone. I loved that the main characters were in their 40's, dealing with adult issues and their flaws only made them more realistic and relatable. Mature adults are too often overlooked in romance stories and I was happy for the opportunity to give this a listen. The characters were well-developed and likeable and I was really rooting for a happy ending. Savannah was a great setting as well.

Kelley Hazen as narrator was awesome as usual. Each character had a distinct voice and it was easy to distinguish between them. The narration added greatly to my enjoyment of the story. Passion Project was a terrific listening experience and I would recommend it.

Fantastic Standalone Sequel

After losing her husband 10 years ago, Marly's been raising her two kids and working at a construction company to support them. When she loses her job she's forced to think outside the box and auditions for a new DIY show in Savannah. At the audition, she meets the producer, Jack, and he immediately rubs her the wrong way. Jack is trying to get back on his feet with the new TV show, and things don't run smoothly. The irritation between Jack and Marly turns to attraction, but their pasts aren't going to let them move on so easily.

I really enjoyed this romance! It's the sequel to A Building Passion, which I loved, and included the characters from that book. It doesn't end on a cliffhanger and could be read as a standalone. It's a steamy read and the location made it even better! The DIY show gave it a really refreshing angle. Jack and Marly were great together, and I loved their interactions and conversations. I especially loved the kids. Jasmine's flashes between loving daughter and budding rebellious teen were so well written and believable, she just leapt off the page. There were plenty of times the dialogue had me laughing out loud.

The narration was really well done, Kelley Hazen performed distinct voices for each character. She just pulled me into the story and kept me listening til the end. I requested a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review. It's a listen I'd recommend to romance fans.

SUPER

Great story, great characters you root for, solid narration. Everything you want from an adult contemporary romance and more. Savannah is a very romantic setting and the author takes full advantage. The daughter as a comic foil is really great.

Fun Listen!

I really enjoyed this listen. It is fun and unexpected and for adults. The premise of the story is reminiscent of a television show, but the characters are very endearing. I enjoyed the various distinguishing voices the narrator performs. The story is a standalone listen and part of a series. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review.

DIY Passion

PASSION PROJECT - DIY Series Book #2.
: Sandra Kyle

This is an adult romance. I'm not saying that it's graphic, but a few situations are for the more mature listener/ reader. Jack and Marly meet at an audition for a DIY show. After that things go on a merry chase. There are plenty of twists and turns that keep the listener wondering what will happen next. This book ended leaving plenty of room for another book.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Kelley Hazen is amazing!!!

Passion Project

Back in Savannah. This second book in the DIY series revisits some familiar characters from the first book, but the main focus is on a different set of characters. A DIY home show is being produced there’s more than remodeling involved...

Sandra Kyle has written another lovely story with great characters, a fantastic plot, and passion. With Kelley Hazen narrating, you cant go wrong!

A Great Listen

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the narrator and found it very entertaining even though I don't usually listen to contemporary romance. The second book is just a much fun as the first. The new characters added to the story, are looking for a second chance in life. They find it in Daniel's new DIY show. It's not all smooth sailing though. It's a nice combination of romance, suspense and humour. I found myself chuckling as I drove down the road. It's well worth a listen.

Great Read

Passion Project by Sandra Kyle was a great read. This is book two in A DIY Romance. Marly is raising her children as a single mother. She recently loses her job and decides to audition for a DIY show. At her audition she meets Jack and doesn't expect just how much her life is going to change. I loved this book and can't wait to read more by Sandra Kyle.

TERRIFIC, GREAT NUMBER TWO TO SERIES

The DIY refers to the web series started in Book One A BUILDING PASSION. I loved that book and I enjoyed this one just as much if not more. I haven't read that many books set in Svannah, GA so the location is fun and also the characters travel around a lot to different locales which gave the story a sweeping quality that added to the romance and excitement. Jack and Marly are enemies at first - you can sense the friction /attraction - and that always makes for a fun romance. This is not your run of hte mill romance - it feels different, fresh not heavy but not any less important in terms of what is at stake for the people in the story. Marly is an ex beauty queen who auditions to be the sidekick on a new DIY show. Jack in the producer who needs a win. Each has a history that gets in the way of what they want. I loved it! I am looking forward to book 3.

NUMBER TWO IN SERIES DOES NOT DISAPPOINT

What a fun, light, refreshing series this is! You do not need to listen to DIY Book 1 to enjoy Book 2, even though they are linked. Jack is producing Daniel's DIY show in Savannah. He needs this job. Marly, a single mom and ex-beauty queen, is cast as Daniel's sidekick on the show. Marly needs this job. They both have their own baggage, their own skeletons. Sparks fly as initially they butt heads, but the route they take to come together is really fun. I was pulling for them. The daughter is a smile and a great foil. A loved the inside look at the audition and casting. I liked the frequent traveling/change of location and the hidden mystery, the bit of suspense. The characters are specific and well defined. You care about them. The narration is solid. The story intrigues and kept me listening. I loved it.
