I thought this was a well written story for the first book in this series. I loved Kayla and Sean's story which was full of so much pain and lose. Sean has lost his whole family as he pulls into his self not letting anyone in. Kayla has been where Sean is now and does her best to pull him out of his shell. It is really a conflict of wanting to help and running away. Sean does open up but still is unwilling to give of his self.
I thought Ms. Vail did a good job she put emotions into the listen. I didn’t care for some of her voices but for the most part they were good. At times she sounds robotic more so in one character voice than the others. There was only one place where I am sure she took a break the volume went from low to higher. If she took any other breaks I could not tell. There were no background noise and really was a nice listen.
This does have a good plot with a story inside a story however part of the plot is a very touchy subject for a lot of Americans. I did like the characters I understood it must be kind of boring there with not much to do so I could relate to the sister. It does make a wonderful get away to hide in why you face your problems and getting over your pain. I thought Kayla forgive Sean a little too easy 6 months is a long time. The author gave a very touching read with a very vivid picture of what paradise look like that I so wanted to go join them. I am looking forward to seeing what the rest of this series has in store for us.

Would you consider the audio edition of Paradise Cove to be better than the print version?
I love listening to books as I drive, this book had me laughing out loud and caused a few tears. If I am not driving I like to use the whisper sync and read and listen at the same time. I don't necessarily think one is better than the other, I just love having books available on audible.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Paradise Cove?
The sisters and their mother are so much fun together. Sean and Kayla's love story is so sweet, overcoming some pretty difficult things to be together.
What about Cynthia Vail’s performance did you like?
Ms. Vail's voice is very smooth and enjoyable to listen to.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Can paradise heal a broken heart?

This is a feel good book that is really enjoyable, with a bit of heartache. Sean's background is heartbreaking, his sweet little girl, Sarah, died of cancer. As a doctor, he couldn't make her better and he blamed himself. He was a shell of a man when he came to paradise cove. When he met Kayla he was rude and dismissive. However, Kayla saw the pain in Sean and since she knew a bit about pain of loss, she was determined to be kind to him. Kayla accepts Sean's offer of just a physical relationship, she won't get emotionally involved with this man...until her heart has other plans.
This story is about Sean finding he isn't a shell of a man, that he deserves happiness. The question becomes can he find that happiness with Kayla? This book is funny, sweet and so enjoyable. Fantastic beach read or listen to it on audible. Totally loved it, the sisters are so much fun, This is a fun, feel-good read (once you get past Sean's issues.) Can't wait to read the next in the series.
I was given this audible book in exchange for an honest review.
