Publisher's summary

I lost her. No. I threw her away. She was my best friend. I was never supposed to fall in love with her. I was careless. She was heartbroken. I thought I was doing fine. But here she is, years later, forced to work with me, reminding me why I fell in love with her in the first place. And this time I'm going to do everything in my power to never let her go.

A must read for fans of second chance romance!!

Would you listen to Paper Hearts again? Why?

Absolutely! I love the narrators and I thought they did a fantastic job with this story.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Paper Hearts?

Grand gestures!!!

What about Misty Stone and Vikas Adam ’s performance did you like?

I thought Misty was fabulous at conveying the spitfire that was Mia and Vikas was perfect as Jensen. Those Jensen Talks chapters were highly anticipated as the story progressed.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes - most definitely. It took me a few days because of work and life but I put aside the book I was reading so I could focus solely on this book.

Any additional comments?

If I were to give a star for every time that Jensen made me swoon, this would be a 10+ star book. Watching these two try again was equal parts entertaining & charming. I am smitten with this couple and I am sad my time with them has ended.

Mia was a frustrating character. Her hesitation to move forward, though not unfounded, was maddening especially when compared to the effort Jensen put forth to restore her faith in him. The history of her journey sans Jensen was definitely heartbreaking to recount and it was good to see her find some closure to that low point in her life.

Jensen most definitely owns my heart. I adored him and his column. Jensen Talks was a unique way to learn more about the man who owned Mia's heart. He was adorable as a father and put forth a valiant effort at winning back the love of his life. I lost count of the numerous heavy sighs and flutters he gave me throughout the book.

Paper Hearts is definitely a contender for a top read of 2016. Interestingly enough, Kaleidoscope Hearts was one of my top reads of 2015. For all the love I have for Oliver and Estelle, I think Mia and Jensen may have moved ahead of them in my all-time favorite couples list - and that is courtesy of the uber talented Claire Contreras. I’m looking forward to Vic’s story in Elastic Hearts, which is already queued up on my Audible app.

Even more captivating then print!

I've read this book countless times and every time my emotions are tested, but hearing it on audio was like hearing it for the first time. The emotion was so raw! Oh and Vika does a perfect Jensen!

Don’t waste your time

Ok I’m going to keep this short. The steam was literally non existent. Mia and jensons chemistry seemed like it was written by a machine. Sex scenes actually put me to sleep. Jenson claims he’s sooo in love he can’t see himself with anyone but her and yet he manages to not only agree to take a break but also *spoiler* (gets another girl pregnant).
He expects Mia to take him back because they both agreed to the break and she dated other ppl too (but not once did she get pregnant or even entertain the idea of it.) When Mia refused to play loyal doormat and wait for him while he has a baby with another woman (which any self respecting woman should) he goes and marries the baby mother- but he’s so in love with Mia right -_-.
When they do end up getting back together Mia used the excuse that she can’t control her feelings and hormones around him instead of admitting she has no backbone. Oh and the cherry on top is Jenson believes he deserves forgiveness because he stalked her while she was healing from his betrayal and wrote kiddie books about her. When Mia chooses to move to her dream career Jenson feels like he was betrayed cuz she left him but not once did he try to follow her even though he cut her first. It’s a shitshow that reeks of entitlement, boring sex, annoying couple, and idiotic choices. You’re better off reading anything else. Performers were good though. Sorry they had to waste talent on this

Annoying Heroine and Useless Chapters

This book was ok... The author really needs someone to teach her how to edit, though. There were several useless chapters, and story prattled and rambled on unnecessarily. This story could have been so much shorter without all the useless filler space.

And the heroine... she was such s selfish piece of work. I couldn't stand her! She was thoughtless and annoying (so were her family and friends tbh with the exception of Oliver) and I hated how she kept being referred to as "selfless" and "light". What a crock! She was pessimistic, whiny, weak and pathetic. I started to feel bad for the hero. He took her back waaaay too fast; he made it so easy for her to come back at the end after all the hoops she made him jump through throughout the story and after hurting his kid like that. She was such an asshole. I really regret reading this...

Loved this book!

Great second chance romance. I love second chance romance books that have drama the couple struggle to overcome. I would definitely recommend this book.

JENSEEENNNNNNNN

This audiobook also contains the prequel novella.

I might love second chance romances, but there are some reasons for the MCs to be torn apart that I absolutely cannot stand. Claire Contreras is possibly the only author I would ever trust to write a second chance where one MC has a child with someone else. (They were on a break. So it might have been cheating by your definition.) My heart was ripped out, torn into pieces, stomped on, and somehow glued back together all by this book. Jensen and Mia are absolute perfection and deserve all the love and praise.

Narration: Vikas Adam embodies Jensen so well and was perfectly cast. Misty Stone does a good job, but is not a narrator I seek out.

LOVED!!!

Wow I completely entranced by every single word of this book. I love a good second chance romance, this one included! I was hooked immediately, and there wasn’t a dull moment. My heart ached for Mia and Jenson, but in the end it felt so full. Their connection and love could be felt through the pages. I’m obsessed!!!
