Publisher's summary

From Marc Levy, the most-read French author alive today, comes a modern-day love story between a famous actress hiding in Paris and a bestselling writer lying to himself. They knew their friendship was going to be complicated, but love - and the City of Lights - just might find a way.

On the big screen, Mia plays a woman in love. But in real life, she's an actress in need of a break from her real-life philandering husband - the megastar who plays her romantic interest in the movies. So she heads across the English Channel to hide in Paris behind a new haircut, fake eyeglasses, and a waitressing job at her best friend's restaurant.

Paul is an American author hoping to recapture the fame of his first novel. When his best friend surreptitiously sets him up with Mia through a dating website, Paul and Mia's relationship status is "complicated."

Even though everything about Paris seems to be nudging them together, the two lonely ex-pats resist, concocting increasingly far-fetched strategies to stay "just friends." A feat easier said than done, as fate has other plans in store. Is true love waiting for them in a postscript?

Book=Good, Audio Book - Robotic

While I loved the book I couldn’t make it through the audiobook because I found the readers voice irritating and robotic. I stopped and read the actual book instead.

Not what I expected, very good light book. Not a sizzling romance but a cute good romance

Romantic Comedy. Thank you Kindle First

Dang the 2nd Kindle First book I read this month that blew me out of the water!

P.S. from Paris is a romantic comedy of sorts. But one with a plot(s) more complicated and interesting than I first expected.
All of the characters were quite enjoyable.

While I would say there is romance in this novel, I want to be clear that this isn't a romance novel. Romance isn't heavy, but rather hinted at. I found it to be sophisticated and entertaining.

Curious to read more from Levy.

Good but not great

In the beginning it was hard to connect to the book. During the characters rendezvous it was an attention grabber. The end of the book was all over the place and lost my attention as a reader. The ending felt more like a confusion of multiple books with a lack of character development and a lack of connection to the main story.

I enjoyed reading this book

I enjoyed the story. But it there could have been a bit more to this story. I felt that I went on a little too long for
my taste.

Surprising Third Act

I thought the premise of this book was very "Notting Hill" until the story took a turn in the third act that made it far more interesting. Overall, I enjoyed it!

Delightful story

A gentle romance filled with humor and twists and turns. This is story about two people who are trying to define theirselves as their love for each develops. It is a story of love not lust, that steps away from the erotica billionaire life that has begun to plague present romance novel. A story that is meant to be read more than once.

A very enjoyable listen

I rarely write reviews, but this book deserves one. For me it was a new plot for romance novels. Several times I laughed out loud. It was a really enjoyable listen. I would highly it.

all over the place!

There were moments in the story that I truly enjoyed it, but then there were moments where I had no idea what was going on. I felt like the story went back and forth and it wasn't a good rhythm to it, also it seemed to me a little far-fetched that smart adults couldn't figure out what was going on around them. all in all it was an okay story but I want to recommend it to a friend. the performance was great and I enjoyed hearing all the French pronunciations.

Mia and Paul Make a Cute Couple

I selected this book as my gift from Amazon for August. I loved the story and will reading more by this author. Mia was the main character, a well-known actress, who made movies with her husband. Her husband cheats on her and she gets fed up and takes off to Paris to 'get her head straight.' She is taken in by her best friend for years, Daisy, who owns a restaurant. Mia doesn't know what she should do but she winds up registering on a dating site. the story takes off. She meets Paul Barton, and American novelist living in Paris, and the story wraps itself around your heart and head. It is a love story but with lots of twists and turns. I am so happy that I selected it. It is unpredictable. the characters are well developed and easy to like. It's is funny and sweet. Treat yourself to a new author and sit back and enjoy. The author has written 18 novels so I'd say I can enjoy his words for some time yet. Check him out. Thanks to the translator Sam Taylor for a superb translation; Tim Campbell portrayed the characters with great charm. I loved this book and will be looking for more Marc Levy books.
