Publisher's Summary

This New York Times best-selling author holds a Romance Writers of America Lifetime Achievement Award. With more than eight million copies of her books in print, Elizabeth Lowell has won a huge following of readers who yearn for romance as much as she does. Left alone on her family's Civil War-ravaged farm, Willow Moran wants to find her gold-mining brother in the Colorado Rockies and start a new life. Dark, strong, unsmiling Caleb Black is going to be her guide. As threatening as he seems, this former army scout is Willow's best hope for a safe passage through the treacherous mountains past comancheros and Indian renegades. But torn between his need for a woman and his thirst for vengeance, Caleb has his own reasons for helping the innocent young Willow. Characteristic of Elizabeth Lowell's books, Only His offers an exciting world of heightened passion and warm sensuality. Richard Ferrone's tantalizing narration lets listeners experience the thrill of a dangerous liaison from the safety of an armchair.

Audiobooks should have ratings...

I purchased this audiobook because it seemed like something that would interest me, and it did.
But I would have loved it if it had not included the many many sex scenes in it. If this were a movie, it probably would be rated R at minimum.
The story itself is written beautifully, and has a great flow to it. So if you enjoy the hot and steamy love scenes, then you may want to get this. If you tend to enjoy cleaner romantic novels, then this is not for you.

Sensual Romance In The Colorado Wilderness

If you're a fan of romance, you definitely need to discover Elizabeth Lowell, and "Only His" is a great place to start. This is the first in a series of 4 novels about the Moran siblings and life in the Colorado wilderness after the Civil War. Lowell always does great research, but her true forte is creating unique and wonderful characters. This is the story of Willow Moran, the only daughter in the Moran family, who following the death of her parents goes in search of one of her brothers, Matt Moran, in the Colorado Rockies. As her guide she hires Caleb Black, a tall, dark and handsome man who, unbeknownst to Willow, has his own score to settle with Matt Moran. Despite Caleb's misgivings, Willow handles the harrowing and dangerous journey across the wilderness surprisingly well, and the two are increasingly drawn to one another. Only Caleb knows that there is certain tragedy ahead when and if they find Matt.
Both of the main characters are very well-drawn, and Lowell masterfully builds the sexual tension between them. The love scenes are steamy and the action scenes are very compelling. I ususally would skim through gun battles, but Lowell does such a good job that you won't want to miss them. You'll be sorry to see this book end. Luckily it's just the beginning of the Moran saga!
