Publisher's summary

New York Times best-selling author Jill Shalvis returns to Heartbreaker Bay with a fun and festive holiday novella!

It's Christmas Eve, and Rory Andrews is desperate to get home to the family she hasn't seen in years. Problem is, her only ride to Lake Tahoe comes in the form of the annoyingly handsome Max Stranton and his big, goofy, lovable dog, Carl.

Hours stuck in a truck with the dead sexy Max sounds like a fate worse than death (not), but Rory's out of options. She's had a crush on Max since high school, and she knows he's attracted to her, too. But they have history...and Max is the only one who knows why it went south.

They've done a good job of ignoring their chemistry so far, but a long road trip in a massive blizzard might be just what they need to face their past...and one steamy, snowy night is all it takes to bring Max and Rory together at last.

Little bit of naughty, a whole bunch of lovely

I LOVE this series by Shalvis!!! Tahoe is one of my favorite places to be, so this short novella hit a soft spot. The audio narration was perfect and the characters were adorable.

Cozy Blizzard Romance: Unwrapping the Layers

"One Snowy Night" by Jill Shalvis is a charming holiday romance novella that offers a delightful mix of warmth, festivity, and budding romance. As someone who appreciates a good spicy romance, I found myself drawn into the connection between the main characters, Rory Andrews and Max Stranton, from the very beginning. Their chemistry was evident, sparking a desire for more depth and development in their relationship.

The setting of a snowy road trip is a perfect backdrop for this enemies-to-lovers storyline. The confined space of Max's truck, along with the presence of his lovable dog, Carl, creates an intimate atmosphere that allows for the unfolding of their shared history and unresolved tension. The gradual revelation of their past and the evolution of their feelings are well-paced for a novella, though I found myself longing for a deeper exploration of their characters and more heated scenes to fully flesh out their connection.

One aspect of the story that felt a bit rushed was the transition from their longstanding mutual crush and animosity to a full-blown relationship. The rapid progression, especially within the span of a 12-hour journey, left me craving a more gradual and detailed exploration of their shift from adversaries to lovers. While the enemies-to-lovers trope and the concept of love at first sight are appealing, this particular story would have benefited from a more extended narrative to truly capture the depth and complexity of their relationship.

Despite this, "One Snowy Night" still delivers a heartwarming holiday romance. Shalvis's writing is engaging and evocative, bringing to life the cozy, festive atmosphere of Christmas Eve. The novella excels in creating a sense of closeness and warmth between Rory and Max, making their eventual coming together feel both sweet and satisfying.

In conclusion, "One Snowy Night" is a delightful read for those seeking a quick and heartwarming holiday romance. While it leaves a bit to be desired in terms of character depth and relationship development, it succeeds in creating a festive and romantic atmosphere that captures the spirit of the season. For fans of Jill Shalvis and lovers of holiday romances, this novella is a charming addition to your festive reading list.

The voice of the narrator makes me cringe!

I struggled to finish this because I could not get over the sound of the narrator's voice, it was very irritating and in some cases high pitch. The story wasn't interesting enough to keep me going. I thought that since this was short enough I could get through a couple hours of it but I just can't do it anymore.
