Before I started this second instalment of Miller and Livy's tumultuous, all consuming and intense love affair I thought I'd quickly go back and refresh myself by dipping into a few chapters from book 1. Oh how wrong I was!, because once I started that all consuming and tortuous listen again I was so engrossed, so enraptured and so totally hooked on it (for the second time) that I just had to, yes HAD to, listen to every word, ever paragraph and every chapter all over again, but this time with the joyful knowledge that I already had book 2 lined up ready to immediately follow it. However, NEVER EVER did I think that this second book could surpass book 1 with it's raw passion, with it's seismic sexual intensity, with it's gripping scenes, with it's deep and unerring beauty, with it's shocking discoveries and with it's jaw-dropping cliffhanger..... but it did.

I am in awe of these books, their creator and the narrator - a literature listener's Holy Trinity - and I have just pre-ordered book 3 already knowing that when 02-10-15 comes around..... no matter what book I'll be listening to, it'll be abandoned so I can relish the final instalment of Miller and Livy's romantic journey, a journey that's been heartbreaking, heart stopping and heartpoundingly brilliant.

Worth a credit? I've used three credits on this trilogy and what I got back was pure undisputed, unforgettable and undiluted magic.... so YES YES and YES every one was, and will be, worth it.

- CAROLYN "I love being swept away by a new romance and thankfully Audible's ever growing Library means I get to indulge myself over and over again"

Seriously, grow a spine.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

If you're someone who enjoys a weak, fumbling, spinelessly dull heroine, that then this is your book.

What do you think your next listen will be?

After listening to this, I am not quite sure if I want to get the third book. I HATE quitting in the middle of a series, but this book really put the nail in the coffin for me half way through and I was having a very difficult time finishing it.

What does Edita Brychta bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Edita did a fantastic job narrating, but despite her talent, when the material is crap, well, you can only go so far before hitting the ceiling with this book.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

While I thoroughly enjoyed the first book of the series, this second installment was so tepid and drawn out that I had stopped listening so many times. It was either the main heroine pissing me off due to her lack of spine and absolute worthlessness, or the fact that story was just going nowhere. For the first 80% of the book, the story goes back and forth between the heroine and her man doing the same thing to each other over and over again — granted I understand the author was just trying to build up the relationship, but it took forever for that set-up to happen and I am not quite sure if the author was just trying fill a quota or what, but it definitely felt like it. It was literally pulling teeth to get some momentum going for the story. While the first book got me a little hot and bothered here and there, the second book did absolutely nothing for me. I was so disappointed in the main characters that I couldn't even enjoy it because I found them unbelievably useless and lame.

Any additional comments?

Skip this one, and hopefully the third one will be better.
