Publisher's summary

From New York Times best-selling author, Corinne Michaels, comes a new heartwarming standalone romance.

I'm getting really good at cutting my losses.

First, the husband. Divorcing him was the best decision I ever made. But between single-parenting and job-hunting, I can't catch my breath. When a celebrity blogging position falls into my lap, I'm determined to succeed.

That is, until I get my first assignment and actually see Noah Frazier for the first time...practically naked and dripping wet. My heart races and I forget how to form complete sentences. His chiseled abs, irresistible smirk, and crystal blue eyes are too perfect to be real. So, what do I do? Get drunk and humiliate myself, of course.

I'm ready to forget the awkward night, yet Noah has no intention of allowing me to move on. Instead, he arranges for me to write a feature on him, ensuring a lot more time together. One embarrassing moment after another, one kiss after another, and before I can stop myself, I realize - I'm falling in love with him.

But when the unthinkable happens, can I even blame him for cutting his losses?

What I wouldn't give for just one last time....

A DELICIOUS AND DEEPLY FILLED DELIGHT

Another awesome love story.. delivered by a talented author who certainly knows how to write an emotionally simmering story that captured my interest, my imagination.. and my heart too as two very different worlds collided. Its loveable hero and heroine’s depth of character was a joy to witness as their understanding, mature attitudes.. and growing feelings of loyalty, lust and love for one another was well balanced as they learned how to tentatively co-exist, co-parent and co-habit during emotionally challenging times. The secondary characters of supporting loyal friends, family and little ones was a treasure. I was totally hooked by the rich colorful plot-line as every chapter slowly and deliciously revealed more. The hero and heroine were in their thirties which was a refreshing change.. and both had already experienced a love gone heartbreakingly wrong.. so this was a second chance for both of them to find their HEA.

Corinne Michaels started the book off with the heartbreaking ending of Kristin’s faded marriage and how it impacted on her’s, and her two children’s, lives. Slowly, with the help of her bffs, this strong, but mentally torn down heroine, tries to pick up the pieces of her shattered life.. and that’s when she’s introduced to a sexy, handsome heartthrob of an actor called Noah Frazier (who is VERY swoon, drool, sigh and dream worthy). Despite Kristin’s low self-worth and doubts, their chemistry is undeniable.. and Noah is instantly drawn.. captivated by a beautiful quirky woman who keeps warning that she comes with a lot of baggage. It doesn’t take long for these two wonderful characters to forge a friendship, get closer and have sexy times together.. but Kristin’s no.1 priority are her children’s welfare.. so it’ll take a little while longer (and a drama too) before determined Noah can finally claim his place.

Worth a credit? Yes.. over, and over.. and over again Corinne Michaels has previously wowed me with her Contemporary romances.. and this book was no exception - it was a rich and deeply filled delight that had sweet, heartbreaking, hot, humorous, sensual, sexy, touching, tender and loving scenes. However, there was some angst too created by an ex and drama created another way which caused disillusionment and heartache for a wee while. But, by the end of it all, this dual POV love story left me in a happy place, with a glow in my heart and a smile on my face. The words may have been written by Corinne.. but it was Andi and Sebastian’s fantastic narration that brought all the characters to life, made it sighworthy, made it pop, made it real.. and made it a 5 star perfect listen.

✫✫ 5 Stars ✫✫

I loved this book! This was a breath of fresh air for me because it was a starting over story with mature adult characters and mostly real life situations. Kristin was a great character because no matter what her kids come first and she started off a little beaten down but found herself and became a strong women. Noah is every women's dream, the guys who chases you and reminds you just how great you are. I loved how much he built her up and how mature he was even with her ex. The best part about this book is that the little drama there was, it was not because of immaturity by the main characters. This book left me feeling happy and a little mushy too!

The narration of course was great, both Andi and Sebastian are amazing narrators and they are music for my ears with any book.

The main character comes off as pathetic.

The way the character is written is already severely flawed in how one second she has no confidence and the next second she is all over a man she just met. Her inner dialogue comes off very pathetic and it made it difficult to listen to. The voice actor played into the “woe is me” dialogue and sealed the deal that the heroine is anything but. Even in the parts where she was trying to be strong, the voice actor still made her sound timid and as if she was questioning herself in her confident moments. The male actor- I just didn’t think is voice matched the description of the male lead, but I preferred his chapters because they weren’t laced with insecurity. I felt the plot was lacking, moved far too quickly and the main character wasn’t likable. I lost interest and struggled to finish the audible book. I preferred re-listening to other books rather than this new one.

'A-' rating...

My Review:
Overall: 4.25
Performance: 4.25
Story: 4.0

I've really enjoyed the books that I've read from Corinne Michaels and I can say with honesty that if you've enjoyed any of her other books, that you'll probably enjoy this one, too. It definitely has the same type of feel to it that the others have had. (Note: I've listened to most of her books on audio with these same two narrators and that may have helped all her stories have the same, similar feel to them that really may not be there if reading them without the audio.)

Something that Corinne Michaels does very well is the broken down, scorned woman and giving her a hero who can truly build her back up. This book was that same story line. When the book begins, it's at the beginning of Kristin's marriage blowing up, so we get an up close and personal about what a jerk her ex was and just how verbally abusive he was to her.

But that's where Noah comes in...the perfect guy. He's a movie star with gorgeous good looks who's never even been tempted into a relationship before...until he meets our heroine and then he's swept away.

I'll admit, the story felt a little far-fetched this time around, but that may be because I've read it all before...or the familiarity to the narrators like I mentioned before. I truly do NOT believe it is a fault within the book. I've just read several of these stories before, but honestly if I'd read this one first, I have no doubt I would have adored the story. And I did still really enjoy it...don't get me wrong. The writing is tight and entertaining and I liked listening to the audiobook.

This is every woman's fantasy...have the perfect movie star (our american version of a prince, right?) come in and fall at the normal, housewife's feet and fall helplessly in love with her. What's not to love?

Worth the credit 🔥

Noah is such a good hearted character, how could you not get into this single mommy romance? Andi Arndt's narration was superb, but Sebastian York takes this male character to another yummy level. Even with the baby daddy/new girlfriend drama this was one sexy listen.

A Must Listen Book!

Anytime that I select a Corinne Michaels book I know that I’m in for a treat. I just devour her stories up and can’t stop reading/listening until the end. Noah and Kristin’s story was beautiful, heartfelt and just what I needed right now. As always Andi Arndt and Sebastian York sizzled, bringing these characters to life as only they can.

Boring

Sorry, the whole storyline and plot fell flat for me. Everything was very predictable. There is nothing exciting about the romance, no real tragedy, no passion, nothing for me. Thumbs down. Wasted my audible credit on this book.
