Publisher's Summary

Sassy, spirited Peyton Clark is back - and she’s not alone!
After agreeing to let the spirit of Drake Montague inhabit her body, Peyton soon discovers that the twentieth-century French policeman may be dead but his lothario longings sure aren’t. Now she has to find a way to explain to her sweet, sexy boyfriend, Ryan Kelly, that a spirit has taken up residence in her head, whispering French words of affection day and night.
While Peyton is torn between her love for a living man and her growing affection for one deceased, supernatural activity in New Orleans spikes - and something wicked this way comes. With the help of her friends (and a little voodoo), Peyton learns that the demonic spirit of the Axeman may still dwell in her home. To stop bloody history from repeating itself, Peyton will have to travel back a century to confront the Axeman at his roots, with the help of a certain handsome - and suddenly flesh and blood - police officer in the Big Easy.

Romance, Mystery, Hauntings, and Much More…..

Once Haunted, Twice Shy is a remarkable story and has it all!

Taking place in New Orleans, famous for voodoo and ghosts, H. P. Mallory expertly weaves together actual true hauntings, and ghost stories with elements of fantasy, and romance to create an unusual but suspenseful mystery with lots of twists.

Kate Rudd narrations was exceptional! She really did a great job on all the accents.

This story was well worth my time, and certainly a Kindle Unlimited gem!

Excellent Read...

If you could sum up Once Haunted, Twice Shy in three words, what would they be?

Keeps your attention.

Which character – as performed by Kate Rudd – was your favorite?

I thought she did an excellent job with all the voices though it seems like those with that new Orleans drawl all sounded the same.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I both laughed and cried while reading this book. The crying part definitely caught me off guard though because the books have been a pretty light read. I guess it was too easy to get emotionally involved in the characters, a sign of a good book if you ask me.

Any additional comments?

If you read the first book in the series and enjoyed it you will definitely like this one.

It pretty much starts where the last one left off, with the axeman ready to make his come back into this world and resume his bloody rampage... leaving it up to Peyton to stop him.
