Publisher's Summary

Book two in the series Trek Mi Q’an, No Mercy tells us the story of King Rem Q’an Tal and the capture of his Sacred Mate.
Giselle McKenzie trembled inexplicably as the sound of a low growl reverberated throughout the threads of her consciousness. She knew it couldn’t have emitted from her date, the man sitting across from her in the quaint restaurant. Yet every time he placed his hand over hers, she heard that eerie, primitive growl.

Audible Editor Reviews

When Giselle McKenzie goes on a date with a powerfully attractive man she has little idea that he is the warrior King Rem Qan Tal, on an intergalactic quest to find his Sacred Mate. For years, the King has been alone, relying on multitudes of eager, voluptuous servant wenches to sate his many physical urges, but he remains unsatisfied, searching for his true love. Voice performer Tillie Hooper brings a seductive, lip-licking warmth to her narration of No Mercy, a performance that thoroughly envelops listeners in King Rem Qan Tal's libidinous urges and quest for lasting love.

Little bit disappointed

So this is the second book in the series and I was a little bit disappointed. I felt that it was rushed. The author was true to the story and the new world. However, Rem Qan Tal could have had a great story. He lived a life deprived of his soul mate and was slowly going insane. This story skips ahead about 18 years from the last story to find Rem Qan Tal needing to find his mate. Then there is Gisele, who I think is a little dumb and falls under his spell way too quick. You don't get as much of a connection with them. Although the book has some plot twists, I just think it lacked some wow factor for me. The narrator does a great job with the voices and the dialogue. Don't get me wrong I did not hate this book I just wanted a bit more. Especially since Gisele is taken from Earth and transported to another planet, she does not seem too concerned nor did she put up much fuss. This book does lead nicely into the 3rd book and so I jumped into that one next and it was much better. Don't skip this one because all her books have some preludes to what is coming up. Plus they are not that expensive if you buy them rather than use a credit.

No Mercy REM.

The story was fine, but the narrator irritated me a bit. She sounded like she was putting on the Aus accent and as an Aussie I found it annoying. I prefer natural narration. She was also too sissy sounding, the earlier narrator was better!
