Publisher's summary

Beaumaris of York has many secrets. No human can know that he's an immortal Darkyn assigned to Knight's Realm, the Kyn stronghold disguised as a medieval theme park. And none of his brethren can discover that he's a half-breed, rescued from slavery as a child. Lately Beau has been yearning for action - and he's about to find it with his new mission. Brilliant archaeologist Dr. Alys Stuart is infamous for her extraordinary theories - especially those concerning the mysterious Knights Templar - and she is unaware that her research is funded by the Kyn coffers.

When the Kyn sends a vexingly good-looking man to assist - and protect - her, she doesn't expect the surge of attraction she feels for him. When a powerful Templar artifact surfaces, Alys and Beau must trust each other enough to stop mankind's greed for immortality from sparking a war between mortals and Kyn that will destroy the world.

Loved it.

This is good. The story was really exciting and as always really good characters. I always look forward to these books.

Really good narration by Johanna Parker

CONFUSING SPIN OFF SERIES BUT COULD HAVE BEEN GOOD

Okay - now I'm seriously p'sed cause just as I find out a little more about the Darkyns and can finally understand the mission of the Darkyn Lords (not having read all the previous series of books) I find out this was only a trilogy (arghhhhh).

Yes, it was an enjoyable par/romance which had many supernaturals including vampires in it however, I still feel I was at a big disadvantage by not having read the previous 7 books that came before this series or the Kyndred series either. There are many references to people/events/entities that I was just at a loss to who they all were.

This was a fairly light listen but I felt it was a bit rushed and the chemistry between the h/h didn't really get a chance to 'simmer' - one minute they were colleagues then the next minute they said they loved each other (I thought hello did I miss a few chapters?).

Worth a credit? If you haven't already downloaded any in this series then unfortunately I would have to say NO keep your credits and your sanity. But if you have already read all The Darkyn books then I'm sure you will love these as I probably would have done.
