Too short

I know that the author has written 3 short stories to complete the series. And while I love 3 part stories, this one is so short! I'm enjoying the story and the readers, but I'm annoyed I had to buy 3 different books. If 3 books are going to total to about 10-12 hours, offer an option to buy all at once.

Couldnt this have been ONE book? Seriously...

The story and narration was good and I was very interested in finding out what happened to the characters, but out of principle alone, I decided against buying "part 2" and "part 3" because this SHOULD have been a purchase of ONE book instead of forcing the reader to PAY for very short mini-parts.

4 Never Star’s

I waited to read these until they were all done, so I could just read them all together… So glad I did, because that cliffy was MEAN.

Charlie & Silas have lost their memories of themselves, and each other but also their family and friends. Yet somethings remain. Lyrics to songs, names of celebrities, driving, password for a laptop and so forth but nothing of who or what happened to them to make them this way. And it’s not easy “waking up” alone.

‘I close my eyes and pull away from her. I run my hands through her hair, the frustration of the day catching up to me. I can make light of it all with my jokes. I can dismiss her theories – from tarot readings to fairy tales – simply because it doesn’t make sense to me. But she’s right. None of this makes sense.’

They know they are a couple by the way people talk about them but they remember nothing, but the feeling when they are together those confuse them. It’s a pull like none other they are drawn to each other for no other reason that it feels right.

‘When we lock eyes, I feel like I’m meeting a brand new side of her. A side of her without resolve. A vulnerable side. A side that’s allowing herself to feel something. I want to grin and ask her how it feels to be in love, but I know teasing her in this moment would piss her off and she’d walk away and I can’t let that happen.’

✫✫ 4 Stars ✫✫

Because of SOOO MANY people complaining about the cliffhanger, I waited until all 3 parts were released before I started it. I'm so glad I did because if i didn't have part 2 I would have not been very nice in this review LOL.

The story started a little slow for me but it didn't take long for me to be completely engrossed in the story line. I can't really say much more without giving away spoilers except Charlie seems like a brat, when she reacts to things without thinking about them so i think she must not be a very nice person. The narration is good except I don't love the male narrators voices for anyone except Silas.

Young adult fiction

Would have loved this when I was 16 but thankfully I am no longer 16. Definitely suited to a young adult audience.

Wow. Just wow!

So unique. Never read anything so suspenseful yet enjoyable. Didn't foresee any of the twists and turns. Still heartwarming. WTF ending.

Liked the book!

I'm looking forward to reading the next one. I just finished a 35 hour book that cost me one credit, this book was only 4 hours and cost me the same amount of credits. Since it is such a quick read, I wish audible would reflect that in the cost of it. Good read though, as always Hoover doesn't disappoint!

Interesting Plot to a Novella series

I think that looking at the context of what the book is trying to do is better than taking it at face value. The reviews I've that don't like it are looking at it very practically, instead of a cool what-if. If you read this thinking why are they doing this alone, then try looking at it more as a mystery you're trying to solve with them. Like the movie Memento.

I'll admit though, parts of the jealousy of the main male character and the snide bitterness of the main female had me eye-rolling here and there. All in all, the end had my intrigued.

Both Authors Should Be Ashamed

I normally love both of these authors. This book was childish, predictable, and actually boring. I bought it on sale for a couple dollars for each part. Biggest waste of money in the years and hundreds of books I have listened to on Audible. This is my first one star review. I am kicking myself for buying the second two parts after I listened to the first part. The first part was kind of OK; the second and third parts were just repeats of part one but much more boring since you're basically hearing repeats of part one.
If you're considering spending money - or worse, credits- JUST DON'T.

Make this one book…not 3

This is a young adult novel, and I was suckered in to all 3 parts. It was okay, however I was left feeling annoyed that I wasted $$ on 3 parts to a book less than 13 hours long. Honestly, save your credits!
