It's a "paint-by-numbers" Romance - awful

What disappointed you about Never Die Alone?

It sounded like the author took a "write a romance" course and followed the class notes step by step.

What was most disappointing about Lisa Jackson’s story?

It kept repeating, repeating, and repeating the same paragraphs over and over and over again in each chapter. How many times can you take pages and pages of running away naked through the woods from the same mad man? Ooops, she escaped again and he's risen from "dead" AGAIN, and here we go AGAIN with the same "run, trip, fall, almost escape, get caught" scene.

How could the performance have been better?

The plot line of twins being captured and killed had some merit, but the author just filled in the rest of the details with romance and drivel.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Never Die Alone?

All of the "escape, run, trip, get captured ......" scenes.

Any additional comments?

Audible used to label romances as romances. I wish they'd go back to that practice so those of us who can't stand this kind of "writing" can save our credits.

The Narrator Ruined This

Would you try another book from Lisa Jackson and/or Natalie Ross?

What do you think your next listen will be?

James Patterson

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Natalie Ross?

Santino Fontana he's great at embodying the nuances in female speech

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Anger because of the narrator.

Any additional comments?

The narrator is just absolutely pathetic. I don't get all the rave reviews because I could not concentrate on the story being told because the narrators voice was overly dramatic. It was like listening to bad acting. I thought her "male" voice was absolutely laughable and ridiculous. It was like when the wife tries to impersonate her husband over the phone because she's not an authorized person on the account. You would never believe it. This narrator steals so much from this story that I can't believe they went with her. I mean her voice is like a wet blanket. It is a horrible monotone that makes my ears bleed. I didn't finish this book. I just couldn't listen to it.
